SEND Teaching Assistant Full Time Budleigh Salterton Location: Budleigh Salterton, Devon Pay: 90 100 per day Contract: Full-time (Monday Friday, term time only) Are you a caring and motivated individual looking to make a real difference in education? Teaching Personnel is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support children and young people with additional needs in a specialist school based in Budleigh Salterton, East Devon . The school caters for pupils aged 3 19 with a range of complex learning difficulties, including: Severe and moderate learning difficulties (SLD/MLD) Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) Communication and interaction needs Sensory and physical needs Social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges The setting provides a nurturing, inclusive and creative environment where every learner is encouraged to reach their potential through personalised learning, therapeutic support, and practical experiences. Role Responsibilities As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will: Support pupils with additional needs on a 1:1 or small group basis Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons Implement individual education and behaviour plans (IEPs/IBPs) Encourage communication, independence, and confidence in learners Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff About You We re looking for someone who is: Passionate about supporting children with SEND Patient, empathetic, and resilient Able to build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff Experienced in (or eager to learn about) working with children with additional needs Reliable, flexible, and committed to helping every learner succeed Experience in a SEND or care environment is desirable but not essential full training and ongoing support are provided through Teaching Personnel.
