Senior Systems Engineer Location: Portsmouth (Hybrid working) Salary: £60,000£80,000 A specialist maritime technology organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join its UK engineering team. This role focuses on the technical design and delivery of complex navigation and bridge systems for naval and maritime surveillance projects. The Role You will be responsible for the system engineering lifecycle, from requirements analysis and technical documentation through to build, configuration, integration, testing, and customer support. Working closely with Project Managers, you will ensure technical solutions are delivered in line with contractual and operational requirements. Key Responsibilities Produce requirements, design, interface, verification and validation documentation Interpret and flow down system-level requirements in line with CONOPS and architectural specifications Build, configure and test navigation and marine electronic systems Support installation, commissioning and trials (UK and overseas where required) Provide technical support to customers and service engineers Contribute to technical proposals and system fault diagnosis Make sound technical decisions within project and contractual scope Requirements Strong systems engineering experience within marine or defence electronics Knowledge of radar, navigation aids, steering control and bridge systems Experience configuring and fault-finding PC-based and networked systems Familiarity with tools such as DOORS, SVN, JIRA, MS Office and Visio Degree/HNC in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or related discipline Ability to obtain UK Security Clearance Desirable Experience with network configuration (switching, routing, VLANs, VMs, security) Knowledge of relevant cyber security and naval integration standards Membership of a professional engineering body (e.g., IET or INCOSE) Whats on Offer £60k£80k salary Hybrid working arrangement 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays Pension scheme and private medical insurance Flexible working options including nine-day fortnight Professional development and training opportunities Exposure to complex naval and maritime technology projects TPBN1_UKTJ
