Role responsibilities We are seeking a Project and Process Engineer as a key part of the engineering capability at Pullman Rail to drive engineering strategy, ensure technical excellence, and overseeing the development and in-life support of key projects. You will develop talent and support the engineering capability to power Pullman Rail’s long-term growth. The Project and Process Engineer will provide coordination, manage key interfaces across the organisation and with customers, and provide engineer leadership to R&D projects, investigations, and throughout the contract lifecycle. This role will have one direct report. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: • Safety & Ethics – Support the implementation of the Pullman Rail Limited Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) strategy, associated actions and resulting initiatives, to deliver continuous improvement., • Quality & Compliance – Support the quality and inspection team to drive the quality of products to our customers. This will includes long-term planning to fully integrate regulatory and maintenance requirements into operational procedures. You will design and refine tooling, fixtures, jigs and manufacturing processes (inc. use of 3D CAD) to support new product or overhaul of rolling stock components., • Delivery – Ensure project and contracted work is carried out with a continuous view to affordability, profitability and efficiency to drive customer value and relationships. Take responsibility for delivering on time, high quality and on budget products, or/and engineering services, which Pullman Rail can take pride in. You will develop processes and controls, review and update engineering documentation, and ensure technical instructions and maintenance procedures are clear, accurate and compliant., • People – Champion respect, inclusion, and diversity; empower the engineering team to excel through development, collaboration, and innovation. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams and our customers to develop and mobilise solutions, and deliver high value customer products and engineering services. The Project and Process Engineer will develop, mentor and empower their team to achieve leading performance through continuous professional development, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation. Who we’re looking for • An engineer (with a Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Production Engineering, or working towards Chartered Engineer status) with demonstrable experience in a technical role, ideally within the traction and rolling stock industry., • Someone with a strong understanding of regulatory and industry frameworks (for example, RISAS, ISO ROGS) who is able to lead, influence and collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams to deliver process improvements and key projects., • Strong understanding of reliability engineering techniques (FMEA, RCM, RAMS), engineering change control and maintenance optimisation in the rolling stock domain., • High level attention to detail, with demonstrable experience of problem solving, trouble shooting and managing well under pressure. Strong background of process re-engineering and other continuous improvement and lean techniques. Welsh Language Skills The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role. The Role Due to the increased workload, we are seeking to recruit Senior Flood Engineers. The successful candidate will undertake and oversee the production of Flood Management design, working within a dedicated flood management design engineering team. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within the Flooding and Water Management team in our Belfast or Cardiff offices, providing effective support and assistance to the engineers and team leaders on a variety of flood schemes. We have been confirmed as the lead engineering consultant working with the NI Department for Infrastructure (DFI) on their Water and Departmental Delivery contract for the next five years, as well as NI Transport Asset Management and Translink contracts. We are working on a range of flood management projects for Regional Authorities in Wales, South-West and Midlands areas, National Highways and National Rail, and looking to expand further in these areas. Being an experienced Senior Flood Engineer at Amey Consulting, you’ll have the chance to focus on the parts of your role you most enjoy. In a typical week you will: • Develop flood designs following the client’s requirements and relevant design standards, • Represent the business stream in multi-disciplined project teams, • Prepare and check the feasibility studies, appraisal and assessment reports, • Development of engineering solutions and presentation of engineering options, • Produce and check flood design concepts, design details, drawings specifications and other technical documents, • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the budget for projects including the planning, monitoring and reporting of project resources, • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with the client and other relevant stakeholders, • Support the preparation of bids and delivery of services on other contracts, • Inspection work, feasibility studies, cost estimating for works and fees, • Undertake site supervision duties of contractors and when required We want to hear from you if you have: • A keen interest in flood engineering and you can demonstrate experience and expertise, probably gained in an Engineer/ Senior Engineer role or equivalent, • A Bachelors or Masters degree in an appropriate subject, • Chartered status held with an appropriate professional body and at least 5 years post graduate experience in the feasibility, design, supervision and overall management of flood risk management based civil engineering projects, • Ability to produce or oversee the production of technically sound engineering solutions, complying with all relevant technical standards and client requirements, • Experience in undertaking project related tasks associated with health, safety and welfare, e.g. Construction (Design and Management) Regulations or equivalent, • Knowledge of the application of technical governance procedures within a consulting engineering environment, • Knowledge of technical governance procedures and how they are applied within a consulting engineering environment, • Strong analytical, written, communication and presentation skills., • Excellent teamwork skills. The Rolling Stock Engineer will deliver comprehensive engineering support for traction, rolling stock, and vehicle systems, focusing on safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations. The role encompasses both electrical and mechanical expertise for traction, auxiliary power, and control systems. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: • Safety & Ethics – Support the implementation of the Pullman Rail Limited Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) strategy, associated actions and resulting initiatives, to deliver continuous improvement., • Quality & Compliance – Support the quality and inspection team to drive the quality of products to our customers. This will include providing technical support and engineering expertise across all rolling stock systems including traction, braking, pneumatic, electrical and control systems embedding best in class ways of working., • Delivery – Ensure work is carried out with a continuous view to profitability and efficiency and drive customer value and relationships. Take responsibility for delivering on time, high quality and on budget products, or/and engineering services, which Pullman Rail can take pride in. You will develop, review and update engineering documentation, technical instructions and maintenance procedures to ensure clarity, accuracy, and compliance., • People – Champion respect, inclusion, and diversity; empower the engineering team to excel through development, collaboration, and innovation.
