About the role The Health & Safety Quality Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the organisation’s health & safety, regulatory compliance, and quality management systems, across the organisation at multiple sites. This role ensures the business operates safely, legally, and in accordance with industry standards, while driving continuous improvement across all operational processes. The successful candidate will act as the organisation’s subject matter expert for health & safety legislation, compliance frameworks, risk management, and quality assurance. The role will be based at our Warehouse but also responsible for all Muc-Off sites. Key responsibilities: Health & Safety Management • Develop, implement, and maintain Health & Safety policies and procedures., • Ensure compliance with local, national, and industry-specific legislation., • Conduct risk assessments and ensure appropriate control measures are implemented., • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective and preventative actions., • Deliver H&S training and toolbox talks across the organisation., • Monitor and report on H&S performance metrics (near misses, incidents, KPIs)., • Maintain up-to-date documentation and records., • Act as the main point of contact for regulatory inspections and audits. Quality Management • Develop and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS)., • Lead continuous improvement initiatives., • Conduct internal quality audits., • Analyse quality data and performance trends., • Implement corrective and preventative action processes (CAPA)., • Support certification standards such as ISO 9001 (and others as applicable)., • Work cross-functionally to improve operational efficiency and reduce risk Risk & Governance • Maintain the corporate risk register., • Identify operational, regulatory, and reputational risks., • Develop mitigation strategies and business continuity plans., • Report regularly to senior leadership on risk and compliance status. Culture & Leadership • Promote a proactive safety and quality culture., • Provide guidance and coaching to managers and employees., • Champion best practices across all departments., • Drive employee engagement in safety and quality initiatives. Key Skills & Experience Essential • Proven experience in Health & Safety or Quality Management., • Strong knowledge of relevant H&S legislation., • Experience managing audits and regulatory inspections., • Experience with Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001)., • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills., • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills., • Ability to influence and drive cultural change. Quality Improvement Manager Location: Hybrid (with regular travel to services as required) Department: Quality Reporting to: Head of Quality About the Role We are looking for an experienced and values-driven Quality Improvement Manager to join Muve Healthcare Group. This is a pivotal leadership role focused on driving continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, and high-quality practice across our services. Leading a team of Compliance Officers, you will work in close partnership with operational, clinical, and senior leaders to ensure our services consistently meet and exceed CQC and Ofsted standards, while embedding a culture of learning, accountability, and best practice. This role suits someone who thrives on influencing positive change, translating insight into action, and improving outcomes for people with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs. Key Responsibilities • Lead, conduct, and contribute to balanced, fair, and evidence-based audits and thematic reviews aligned with the Muve Healthcare Quality Assurance Framework, CQC and Ofsted requirements., • Work alongside the Head of Quality to design, implement, and continuously improve quality assurance and audit systems., • Support the development, review, and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure alignment with regulatory, legislative, and best practice requirements., • Produce clear, concise quality and compliance reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and governance meetings., • Contribute to learning from serious incidents, safeguarding concerns, and complaints, ensuring robust oversight and compliance with procedures., • Ensure the voice, lived experience, and outcomes of the people we support and their families are embedded within all quality improvement activity., • Monitor progress against agreed improvement and compliance action plans, escalating ongoing non-compliance or emerging risks where appropriate., • Provide expert advice, guidance, and coaching to operational and clinical teams to support sustainable improvements in practice., • Line manage and support Compliance Officers, offering coaching, development, and oversight of audit and review activity., • Promote a positive, open, and learning-focused culture across the organisation., • Proactively identify areas for improvement and develop clear, time-bound action plans., • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes, sector developments, and best practice in social care., • Provide flexibility and cross-cover within the quality team to meet organisational needs. What We’re Looking For Essential Experience & Skills • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory standards, including CQC Fundamental Standards., • Sound understanding of safeguarding, adult protection processes, and responsibilities., • Knowledge of best practice in adult social care, particularly supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs., • Experience of quality assurance, audit, and continuous improvement frameworks., • Understanding of wider legal and regulatory frameworks, including the Mental Capacity Act and Health & Safety legislation., • Experience working within an operational, quality, or compliance role in adult care and support services., • Proven experience assessing and improving quality and managing risk in regulated environments., • Experience line managing staff and supporting teams to achieve measurable improvements., • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills., • Strong organisational skills, able to prioritise workload and deliver against agreed KPIs., • Willingness and ability to travel regularly between services., • A collaborative, values-led approach with a passion for driving meaningful improvement. Qualifications • Level 4 or 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), or a recognised Auditor qualification., • Willingness to undertake further relevant training.
