The Opportunity We are looking for a Transport Manager to join our Transport department on a permanent basis. In this role you will assist in the control and management of all transport related matters to ensure the health, safety and welfare of drivers, employees and members of the public. You will ensure compliance with internal transport procedures and legislative requirements as set out by DVSA and HSE and minimise the environmental impact of transport related activities whilst also making sure that operational requirements are adequately met with a key focus on cost reduction How you will make an impact • Maintenance and upkeep Goods Vehicle Operator Licences, permitting KAEFER to operate Large Goods Vehicles (LGV’s), • Ensure LGV’s are maintained in accordance with ‘O’ licence undertaking safety inspections, record keeping and defect reports, • Ensure LGV drivers have the correct licence entitlement by checking medicals and booking periodic training, • Oversee tachograph downloads for both LGV’s and drivers;, • Update/ deliver training / toolbox talks on topics such as the safe loading and unloading of LGV’s for all personnel involved in the loading and unloading of scaffold materials., • Ensure sub-contracted haulage companies comply with KAEFER procedures and are updated with any changes., • Conduct site compliance audits for both light commercial and large goods fleet., • Assist in ensuring all transport procedures, risk assessments and training documents are regularly reviewed, updated and briefed to relevant personnel., • Process motor accident claims, collating relevant information for insurer/solicitor to resolve claims, conduct internal investigations to conclude root cause and required actions and verify and process policy excess payments producing monthly reports for trend analysis, • In relation to vehicle damage, assess off-hire damage estimates, query with site teams / ensure no existing damage charges/requested credits if required and raise requisitions for site management approval What you will bring • Experience in a similar role within the transport industry, • Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) in National Road Haulage, • UK full driving licence and licence to drive LGVs (7.5ton and above), • Comprehensive knowledge of transport legislation and health and safety compliance, • An understanding of budget and financial controls Why KAEFER?
