JOB DETAILS JOB BAND: C CONTRACT TYPE: Fixed-term Contract, Full-time / Attachment, Full-time DEPARTMENT: Planning and Impact Team, News Content LOCATION: Leeds - Broadcasting Centre - Office based PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £36,400 - £46,400 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. Application Process • CV, • Complete the questions on the Online Application Form (Cover Letter is not necessary) PURPOSE OF THE ROLE The Planning and Impact team is at the heart of News Content and drives the planning, delivery and production of stories around the whole of the UK. The team is made up of multimedia journalists based around the UK who supplement UK story teams. As a Video Journalist, you’ll play a key role in the production of major editorial projects, with a focus on digital output, focussing on delivering content aimed at younger audiences for Social, Online, vertical video, You Tube and streaming platforms. Your Key Responsibilities And Impact • Routinely self-shoot and edit video content for a range of platforms., • Exercise editorial judgment in developing story ideas and producing accurate and impartial journalism., • Liaise closely with other team members and departments to ensure that output material is shared, duplication is avoided, and best practice is upheld. You will be working closely with the Learning and Identity team., • Use different treatments for different audiences to ensure that the output reflects the people we serve., • Deliver to tight deadlines while maintaining the highest editorial standards. Essential YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE • Ability to gather and prepare video and audio material for use on any platform., • An interest in and knowledge of stories relating to Learning and Identity with a focus on digital output, focussing on delivering content aimed at younger audiences for Social, Online, vertical video, You Tube and streaming platforms., • Significant experience as a journalist, with a good knowledge of production techniques., • Sound editorial and policy decisions., • Ability to work and deal with daily and long-term editorial demands.
