JAB Recruitment is currently looking to source a Senior Facilities Engineer on behalf of our Operator client based in Uxbridge. This is an ongoing contract initially until 31st March 2027 (PAYE basis). This role plays a key part in supporting the company’s strategic growth targets and offers an excellent opportunity to gain broad experience across a diverse range of assets, regions, and energy sectors, including both oil & gas and renewables. It also provides valuable exposure to the commercial dimensions of mergers, acquisitions (M&A), and new ventures (NV). Strong experience with M&A and NV evaluations is key, with a strong track record of managing projects independently. Role Overview This role sits within the Technical Evaluation team in the UK as part of a global Business Development Centre. It offers a unique opportunity to work across a variety of assets and geographies, with exposure to both technical and commercial elements of M&A and New Ventures (NV). The team is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and recommending M&A/NV opportunities to support the organisation’s wider growth strategy. The Senior Facilities Engineer will focus on evaluating and verifying surface facility design, schedules, and costs as part of a multidisciplinary team. The remit spans both oil & gas and renewables, with involvement in opportunities primarily across the Europe & Africa region, but also globally where required. Key Contacts Internal: Business Development Centre, Technical Support Teams, Review Teams, Affiliates, Shared Services, Functional Departments, Senior Leadership. External: Industry peers, partners, investment banks, brokers. Key Responsibilities You will: • Evaluate facility designs and development schedules in line with internal processes and Stage Gate requirements., • Provide engineering expertise on the design, development, and optimisation of production facilities., • Deliver facility parameters for cost estimation and prepare facilities cost estimates and schedules., • Identify project risks, mitigations, and opportunities, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards., • Present evaluations and recommendations to technical review teams and senior leadership., • Stay current with technologies and best practices relevant to ongoing M&A/NV projects across oil & gas and renewables., • Support due diligence activities, reviewing scope, cost, and schedule aspects of proposed projects., • Contribute to building internal processes, workflows, and standards for facility evaluations., • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers. Skills & Experience You have: • Strong experience in oil & gas facility engineering., • Knowledge of relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental compliance., • Experience with process simulation software and equipment sizing., • Background in evaluating upstream oil & gas facilities., • General understanding of offshore engineering, fabrication, and construction., • Strong analytical ability with clear, concise communication skills., • Commercial awareness and understanding of how technical inputs drive business value., • Ability to deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines while maintaining integrity., • A proactive, self-managing approach, comfortable working across cultures and time zones., • A collaborative mindset and ability to thrive in fast-paced environments. Minimum Requirements • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a relevant engineering discipline., • Professional membership with a recognised engineering body., • Proficiency with appropriate engineering software and analytical tools., • Experience with QUE$TOR™ is an advantage.
