Family Law Secretary Location: Huddersfield, Barnsley, South Elmsall or LeedsJob type: Full-time, permanentSalary: Competitive, dependent on experienceWorking pattern: Hybrid working available SJC Partners is recruiting on behalf of a growing and well-established law firm seeking an experienced Family Law Secretary to join its supportive, close-knit family team. The role may be based at the firm’s Huddersfield, Barnsley, South Elmsall or Leeds office. Please note that an initial two-week training period will take place at the Barnsley office.You will provide high-quality secretarial and administrative support to the firm’s family law team, helping lawyers deliver an excellent standard of service to clients. Your responsibilities will include:\n\n • Providing typing and administrative support to fee earners in a busy, fast-paced environment\n, • Arranging new client appointments\n, • Answering telephone calls and communicating with clients, solicitors and other external contacts\n, • Using digital dictation and the firm’s case management system\n, • Assisting with the creation and maintenance of precedents\n, • Attending regular team meetings and suggesting improvements to administrative processes\n, • Liaising with other members of the administration team\n, • Maintaining the confidentiality and security of client and firm information\n, • Undertaking other reasonable administrative duties when required\n The successful candidate will ideally have:\n\n, • Previous experience within a family law department at a firm of solicitors, or other closely related experience\n, • Strong typing and digital dictation skills\n, • A professional and confident telephone manner\n, • Excellent organisation and workload-management skills\n, • The ability to prioritise work for multiple fee earners\n, • A high level of autonomy and self-motivation\n, • A proactive, efficient and flexible approach\n, • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate empathetically with clients\n, • The ability to work effectively as part of a close-knit team\n Benefits \n\n, • Competitive salary, dependent on experience\n, • Hybrid working available\n, • Support for a healthy work-life balance\n, • 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays\n, • Additional annual leave for long service\n, • An extra day’s holiday for your birthday\n, • Two half-day “Life Admin Days”\n, • Health scheme\n, • Pension scheme\n, • Christmas parties and team get-togethers\n If the above opportunity sounds of interest, please get in touch with Ashleigh at SJC Partners.
