We are looking for a 16/17year-old teaching assistant Job Duties: • Assist young learners (typically ages 3-6) with Kumon worksheets and activities, ensuring they stay focused and engaged. • Provide guidance to develop foundational skills in math, reading, and writing. • Encourage independent learning while offering support when needed. • Monitor progress and provide feedback to the instructor regarding student performance. • Foster a positive and nurturing learning environment tailored to early learners. • Organize and prepare materials, including worksheets, pencils, and other supplies. • Support students in developing proper study habits and fine motor skills. • Collaborate with the instructor to address individual student needs. • Maintain a clean and orderly workspace.
We are looking for two enthusiastic, hard-working individuals to work in our new homework club! You will be assisting a lead tutor in delivering our new program, ‘Educational Enrichment at The Trust.’ Working in a strong team of three (one lead tutor and two assistants), you will help create links between local primary schools, parents and students to further local young people’s educational development. You will be required to attend 4, 2-hour sessions a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and ideally Saturday) where you will be responsible for administrative duties and supporting students. Weekday sessions are 4:30- 6:30, Saturday sessions 11 –1 although these hours may be flexible for the right candidate. This role is term time only and will be £20 an hour. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a small charity while making a difference in your local community. Responsibilities: Taking the register and making sure all student details are logged in an appropriate fashion. Supporting students at the lead tutor’s request. Making sure all materials are ready for each session. Helping to compile progress reports for parents. Helping to establish good working relationships with local primary schools. Conduct interviews with students at the start of the program to help ascertain their educational goals. Conduct interviews with students at the midpoint of the program to check their progress. Conduct interviews with students at the end of the program to ascertain how it (the program) has helped them achieve their goals. Compile the above interviews into a presentation to be given at the conclusion of the program. Create a paper copy of this presentation. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities · Must have an up-t-o-date DBS Check. · Must have (at least) three years working in education/ with young people and references to show it. Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to maintain and foster cooperative and courteous working relationships with the staff, trustees, and the public. The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from parents and students. The ability to maintain the confidentiality of client information. The ability to work in a team.
The Rock Project, the UK & Ireland's leading rock and pop music school will be opening in early March 2025. We are currently looking for an energetic and passionate Manager to teach & inspire small groups of 7-11 & 12-18 year olds at our Canary Wharf/ Isle of Dogs school on a Saturday. The successful candidate would have good teaching experience in either electric guitar, bass guitar, drums or vocals, and a passion for teaching children aged 7+. They are required to drive to the venue and is responsible for the set up, run and logistics of the session, with help of a Session Assistant. This position involves working with children therefore the successful applicant will be required to apply for an enhanced DBS disclosure, or already hold one that has been issued within the last 3 years. We are looking for someone who: - Is a reliable and professional musician - Has experience and enjoys teaching children in groups of up to 5 students - Can build positive relationships with both adults and children - Has a passion for and have good knowledge of Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums or Vocals - Is outgoing, friendly, inspiring and able to lead a lesson - Has experience of leading music session within a large group setting (desirable) - Is dependable and committed to providing high quality music education - Is self-employed and hold a UTR (or can register as self-employed) - Has an enhanced DBS certificate (or willing to get one) - Has a commitment to safeguarding - Can drive, with full UK driving license Role of a Session Manager: - Assume control of the van and equipment - Drive the equipment to and from the session - Set up the session in time for the start time - Run the session as stipulated by The Rock Project – 2 hours for Junior Session and 2 hours for Senior Session - Deal with any parent queries at the session, anything ‘admin’ is to be referred to the franchisee - Pack down the gear with care into the van - Report any broken equipment to the franchisee They will also be expected to: - Plan each session and write a schedule of songs for upcoming weeks/ term - Liaise and take charge of the tutors via the Whatsapp tutor group - Mark the quizzes each week - Print out both quiz tables and any new student registration forms (this will be emailed to you) - Provide welcome pack and reg form for new students’ parent when they arrive - Catch up with tutors about how lessons have gone and report back any problems/disruptive students to the franchisee - Be aware of The Rock Project child protection policy during the group hour. Watch out for any students who are struggling. Keep on top of any safeguarding matters. - RUN A GOOD SESSION! Keep it light and fun for all the students! Equipment provided.
