Mechanical Engineer Role Overview If you are looking for a change, love practical engineering design and dont want to be sat behind a desk all day, this could be the role for you! The Mechanical Engineer is the perfect role for a confident, self- motivated person who enjoys the challenge of problem solving and can work to deadlines. You will be very much hands-on, with a strong mechanical bias. Youll be comfortable using power tools, with the ability to fabricate, cut steel, carrying out grinding and welding, along with the ability to read and create technical drawings. This is a great opportunity for someone with engineering skills and experience, a logical approach to design and an innovative approach. Mechanical Engineer Candidate Requirements A Mechanical Engineering background Familiar with CAD systems, with the ability to read and create technical drawings Strong mechanical bias and comfortable using power tools, with the ability to fabricate, cut steel, carrying out grinding and welding Solid knowledge of vehicle construction and functionality highly advantageous Proficient in Microsoft Office Comfortable dealing with customers on a one-to-one basis A driving licence is essential Mechanical Engineer Key Responsibilities Create new kit designs across the full group range Designs must be processed to the highest standard balancing ease and speed of install with manufacturing repeatability Design kits using standard parts where possible to minimise new parts creation Where new parts creation is necessary, liaise with the manufacturing team for parts sign off Develop and improve the kit design process, ensuring that the Kit Design Team delivers optimal results, both in terms of quality and quantity of designs produced Ensure prompt delivery of accurate and appropriate data to stakeholder process owners, in order to facilitate an expedient route to market for the designs Create jigs for new kit designs when necessary Please Note: Candidates must have the right to live and work in the UK.
