Overview Our client is seeking an experienced Fabric Engineer to join their team at a prestigious commercial site in Hertfordshire. What’s on Offer • Competitive salary with overtime opportunities - Clear career progression pathway - Generous holiday allowance - Ongoing training and development - Stable role within a prestigious commercial environment Working Hours • Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 17:00 - Participation in on-call rota as required Key Responsibilities Fabric & Building Maintenance • Carry out painting, decorating, tiling, carpentry, plastering, and grouting works - Repair and maintain building fixtures including doors, locks, handles, and windows - Undertake general fabric maintenance across plant rooms and communal areas - Ensure all works are completed to a high-quality standard Mechanical, Electrical & Compliance Support • Replace and maintain lighting systems, including emergency lighting testing - Carry out basic electrical works where required - Perform fire alarm testing and fire door inspections in line with compliance standards - Undertake basic plumbing and drainage duties, including system flushing - Support maintenance of building services systems Inspections & PPM • Conduct visual inspections across plant rooms and site areas - Support Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities - Identify and report defects, faults, and maintenance requirements - Ensure site safety, compliance, and operational efficiency Skills & Experience Essential • City & Guilds 18th Edition certification (or equivalent electrical awareness) - Proven experience in a fabric maintenance or building services environment - Strong understanding of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) - Ability to carry out multi-skilled fabric repairs and general maintenance tasks - Good awareness of Health & Safety and compliance standards Desirable • City & Guilds or BTEC qualification in Electrical Engineering or similar - Experience in corporate or head office environments - IPAF and/or PASMA certification - Additional technical or specialist maintenance training Key Success Factors • Effective operation and maintenance of building fabric and services equipment - Proactive identification and resolution of maintenance defects - Minimising downtime and disruption across site operations - Strict adherence to Health & Safety and statutory compliance standards Candidate Profile • Hands-on, reliable, and detail-oriented - Strong problem-solving and practical maintenance skills - Able to work independently and as part of a team - Professional with good communication skills - Committed to high standards of workmanship and safety Why Join?
