We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team to work in schools across Sunderland. This role involves working closely with pupils who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), providing tailored support to help them access learning and achieve their full potential.\n You may be supporting students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, including those with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nProvide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND\nAssist the class teacher in delivering differentiated lessons\nImplement Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)\nSupport pupils' emotional regulation and behaviour management\nEncourage independence and positive engagement in learning\nMonitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to staff\n Requirements\n\nExperience working with children or young people with SEND (school or care setting)\nA patient, empathetic, and resilient approach\nStrong communication and teamwork skills\nA genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs\nRelevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential\n What We Offer\n\nA welcoming and inclusive school environment\nOngoing training and professional development opportunities\nSupportive leadership and experienced staff team\nOpportunity to make a meaningful difference in pupils' livesHow to Apply\n Please submit your CV along with a cover letter outlining your experience and suitability for the role.
