Project CAD Design Technician Permanent | £25,000 – £30,000 | West Midlands | Full Time Ceto Talent is recruiting for a Project CAD Design Technician to join a well-established business in the Wolverhampton area, designing and manufacturing highways vehicle and pedestrian safety products — the kind of equipment you see and rely on every day, on roads and public spaces across the UK. This is a full-time, permanent role offering the opportunity to work across a varied and meaningful portfolio of projects within a collaborative and technically focused team. The role is fully site-based during the probation period, with an expectation of moving to a hybrid working arrangement thereafter. Essential Requirements • Proven hands-on experience using 2D AutoCAD or similar CAD software in a professional environment — this is a non-negotiable requirement of the role., • Confident interpreting and applying information from job files, customer specifications, and estimating data including PDFs and CAD drawings., • Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel., • Experience complying with processes and document control procedures., • Must be based within commutable distance of Wolverhampton, West Midlands., • Must have the right to work in the United Kingdom. Desirable (Not Essential) • Experience creating and understanding general arrangement layouts and drawings for manufacture within a metalwork environment., • Basic knowledge of Autodesk Inventor., • Experience creating cutting data for CNC profiling machines., • Some understanding of manufacturing and installation processes., • Ability to produce layouts and manufacturing drawings in 3D where appropriate., • Knowledge of Autodesk Vault. The Role As Project CAD Design Technician, you will prepare accurate technical drawings for customer approval, internal manufacture, and site installation. You will produce 2D AutoCAD layout and manufacturing drawings, create cutting data for CNC profiling machines, and maintain the ERP system with items and Bills of Materials to support material requisition. You will interpret information from job files, customer specifications, and estimating data, track drawing revisions, and ensure current information is issued to customers and available for reference. Working closely with Project Managers, Technical, Production, Commercial, and SHEQ teams, you will support the delivery of large projects through drawing schedules and revision tracking, maintain drawing schedules via the project work planner, assist with QA processes and document control, and contribute to the continuous improvement of CAD standards and drawing workflows. You will also collaborate across teams to support inter-divisional and multi-disciplinary projects. On-site visits for measurement and detail capture may be required on occasion.
