Teaching Personnel is working closely with a welcoming and nurturing SEN Primary School in Oldham that is looking to appoint a dedicated Additional Needs Assistant to join their team from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to build a rewarding career in education and support children who require additional help to reach their full potential. The Role As an Additional Needs Assistant, you'll work closely with pupils who have a range of additional needs, including: • Autism (ASC), • ADHD, • Speech and Language Needs, • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, • Learning difficulties and developmental delays, • Sensory and communication needs No two days are the same. You'll play a vital role in helping pupils feel safe, supported, and engaged in their learning. What You'll Be Doing • Providing 1:1 and small group support, • Supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom, • Using creative and engaging strategies to encourage learning and development, • Assisting with emotional regulation and promoting positive behaviours, • Supporting communication and social interaction skills, • Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure every child receives the support they need, • Creating a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment We're Looking For Someone Who:, • Has experience supporting children or young people with additional needs, either in schools or transferable settings, • Is calm, patient and resilient, • Builds positive relationships with children and colleagues, • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills, • Is passionate about making a long-term impact on children's lives, • Can adapt their approach to meet individual needsTransferable Experience We Welcome:, • Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant experience, • Care work or support worker backgrounds, • Youth work or mentoring experience, • Nursery or childcare experience, • Residential care experience, • Sports coaching, • Psychology graduates, • Volunteering with children or vulnerable individuals, • Personal experience supporting family members with additional needs If you're looking for a rewarding role where you can genuinely change children's lives and be part of an incredible school community, we'd love to hear from you.
