Senior Residential Care Worker\n\nLocation: Uxbridge\nSalary: up to £30,000 depending on experience\nFull-time, permanent\n\nWe are recruiting an experienced Senior Residential Care Worker to join an Ofsted-registered residential home supporting adolescent boys with Learning Disabilities and Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).\n\nKey responsibilities\n\nProvide high-quality, person-centred care that promotes the health, welfare and development of young people.\nLead shifts and take responsibility for the operation of the home when required.\nAct as keyworker for individual young people: contribute to care plans, reviews and transitions.\nSupervise, support and develop junior staff, including carrying out formal supervisions.\nManage day-to-day household routines (cooking, shopping, appointments, activities) and support education participation.\nApply approved de-escalation and behaviour-management strategies, record and report incidents appropriately.\nMaintain compliance with Ofsted standards, safeguarding procedures, and company policies.\nContribute to a positive, inclusive culture that respects young people's social, emotional and cultural needs.Working pattern\n\nRolling rota: 1 day on, 2 days off, with a requirement of 12.5 shifts per month.\nThe rota includes sleep-ins, which are shared across the team. Any shortfall against the 12.5 shift requirement will be scheduled within the same month.Person specification / requirements\n\nQCF / NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) or equivalent (essential).\nProven experience working in residential childcare, ideally with young people with Learning Disabilities and EBD.\nStrong knowledge of safeguarding, childcare legislation and Ofsted standards.\nExperience of supervising or leading staff and conducting formal supervisions.\nGood written and verbal communication skills and confident record-keeping.\nAbility to work calmly under pressure and to manage challenging behaviour.\nFlexible, reliable, and committed to professional development.\nDriving licence desirable (role may involve taking young people to appointments).Benefits\n\nCompetitive salary £30,000 DOE.\nProfessional development and training opportunities (support for Level 5 progression available).\nA supportive team environment and a chance to make a tangible difference in young people's lives.#STRJP
