As our business looks to deliver its ambitious strategy of growth, we are looking for a Product Safety and Regulatory Affairs Specialist based at our Head Office, Cowick Hall in East Yorkshire on a temporary, fixed-term contract for 14 months. You will use a creative approach to support new product launches and existing product ranges globally, through direction of new substance notification strategies and generation of data to support technical claims. You will also plan, manage and implement toxicity, clinical safety and environmental safety testing programmes with third-party service providers to generate appropriate data in the most cost-effective manner. This role will work closely with marketing and technical teams to support new product launches and monitor market trends, whilst also assisting with the communication of regulatory information to customers. We are committed to fostering an environment where you can grow, make a meaningful impact, and thrive. • Educated to degree level or equivalent in chemistry or another scientific discipline (or with relevant experience), • You will have technical knowledge of or strong interest in chemical and specific application legislation globally, • You will be an intellectually curious individual who brings a new way of thinking and approaching problem solving to ensure efficient and effective communication of regulatory topics and issues, • You will be able to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and demonstrate good attention to detail and organisational skills, • You will possess excellent written and spoken communication skills, • You will be an effective team player and have strong interpersonal skills to enable you to build good working relationships both internally and externally to the business, • Experience using IT systems such as Microsoft packages and SAP EHS or other online systems or databases, • Experience in Product Safety and Regulatory affairs in any of the following fields is desirable: Product regulations (e.g. European Cosmetic Product regulation, Detergents regulation) or European Chemical Regulations (EU REACH and CLP)., • Experience of working within a manufacturing industry is desirable but not essential What You’ll Be Doing Be part of a team that values diversity, sustainability, and continuous innovation, where your ideas and contributions matter. • Key member of the PSRA team supporting the continued compliance of Croda Beauty Care products, • Work alongside varying internal and external teams to support new product launches, • Monitor changes to, or any new/developing legislation or trends, along with supporting the internal review and impact of these changes, • Provide regulatory technical support to internal team members, • Plan, manage and implement toxicity, environmental toxicity and additional testing studies, • Managing product data to ensure validity and consistency, • Collating and creating appropriate responses to our customer needs for regulatory information in relation to their use in cosmetic products, considering appropriateness and relevance of response to elevate Croda products in the marketplace and enable customer use, • Support in continued process improvement, • Develop your own regulatory knowledge and skillsets to ensure Croda’s continued compliance within the market, along with aligning with customers’ needs and the evolving world of regulations and customer certifications.
