Deputy Head of HR Hours Per Week: 37 hours Length of Contract: Permanent Salary Range: £52,717 - £63,651 per annum + Medicash (Health Cash Plan) Location: Horncastle/Spalding - Hybrid Application Deadline: 14th of September 2025 Our HR and Payroll Shared Service support Boston Borough Council, South Holland District Council, East Lindsey District Council, and PSPS. We deliver centralised transactional HR services, including payroll, systems, and data, alongside specialisms in Learning and Development, Employee Relations, and Resourcing. Our team operates across three core offices and embraces hybrid working. For our clients, we maintain response and work priorities through Service Level agreement and annually will agree key projects and deliverables. For PSPS, we also offer the same core HR services but also develop our own strategic people priorities through our People Plan. Over the last few years, we've worked with our partnership Councils to align processes, systems, policies and terms, and have made great progress. As Deputy Head of HR, you will work with the Head of HR and wider HR management team to contribute to our purpose - To deliver consistent, efficient, and compliant HR services that enable people to thrive and our organisations to succeed. You'll Be Responsible For: Lead Payroll Oversight: Oversee payroll operations, including monthly sign-off, BACS processing, and pay overs. Prior experience is helpful but not essential as training is provided. You'll work closely with our experienced payroll team and attend regular payroll meetings. Overall, this focus will account for approx. 25% of your role. Support HR Operations: Depending on your expertise, manage other HR service areas and drive continuous improvement. Deputise for the Head of HR: Monitor service performance, manage audit actions, and mitigate service risks. Drive Service Development: Foster a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing HR culture. Contribute to Strategic Projects: Support the delivery of client priorities and support the development of strategic initiatives to deliver PSPS People Plan. Engage Senior Stakeholders: Build strong relationships with senior leaders and elected members. We're Looking For A HR Leader Who: Brings strong leadership and communication skills. Has experience in payroll operations or is keen to learn. Is skilled in performance monitoring, risk management, and team development. Thrives in collaborative, multi-stakeholder environments.
