We are seeking an experienced Freelance Project Manager to join a flagship redevelopment project at Manchester Town Hall, one of the UK's most significant heritage buildings. Forming part of a landmark £600m+ redevelopment programme, this is a major refurbishment of a Grade I listed building, offering the opportunity to work on a prestigious, high-profile scheme within a Tier 1 construction environment. We are an ESSO accredited training centre for peritoneal surface malignancy. We provide mentorship for trainees undertaking the ESSO/EPSO fellowship in peritoneal surgery. Emergency cover is provided by the colorectal on-call consultant which the successful appointment will be part of. This covers inpatient surgical and oncology patients including those presenting through the Acute Oncology Assessment Unit. The medical establishment provides the following staff within the urology department: • Ten Consultant urologists (2 on SLA contracts with The Christie NHS Foundation Trust from Northern Care Alliance and Manchester NHS Foundation Trust), • Seven Uro-Oncology specialist nurses and one ANP The appointee will be based at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Withington, Manchester, although he/she may be required to provide an outreach clinic at other partner sites within the Greater Manchester area. consultant will also provide senior input to the management of patients with prostate cancer. The post also offers an exciting opportunity to be part of the regional complex pelvic cancer service, providing urological expertise to the minimally invasive and open surgical management of complex cases. A successful candidate will be an integral member of the prostate cancer MDT, offering robotic surgical management for prostate cancer patients across Greater Manchester. They will have the opportunity to develop new and novel techniques for the management of prostate cancer and will have the chance to participate in wide -ranging research programmes. Outpatient clinics will be provided at the main Christie site as well as at satellite services as part of the Christie's commitment to proving care closer to home. Clinical and service development • Support the achievement of QOF targets, taking a lead on a specific clinical area where appropriate., • Actively participate in the development of services in the practices that meet the needs of the practices patient population and maximise the opportunities of new enhanced services., • Work as an integral member of the practice team, contributing to the efficient and effective running of the practice., • Support, where necessary, the implementation of change within the practice., • Undertake clinical audits as required., • Participate in individual and practice reviews as a part of incident or complaints management process. Development and training • Participate in an ongoing personal and professional development programme including annual appraisal and supervision., • Ensure that mandatory training is completed within agreed timescales., • Where appropriate, undertake the North West Deanery basic trainers course and work with the practice and management teams to either enable practice training status to be achieved or maintain training status., • Support the development of gtd healthcare becoming a beacon training organisation. Corporate responsibilities • As an employee of gtd healthcare comply with all corporate and clinical policies and protocols., • Ensure that mandatory training in complete and updated within the appropriate timescales., • Where appropriate, engage in the management and resolution of complaints and incidents and significant events. This may include travel to other sites within the organisation., • In practice as a General Practitioner/ locum practitioner. Commitment to and experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary and skill mixed team environment., • Experience of working to achieve standards within the Quality and Outcome Framework (QOF)., • Experience of supporting service change., • Experience of team leadership., • A medical practitioner whose name is included in the General Practitioner Register under article 1 of the General and Specialist Medical Practice Order 2003., • Not subject to suspension under section 41A of the Medical Act 1983 Qualified General Practitioner (completed certificate of Completion of Training CCT)., • Currently on a performers list and not suspended from that list or from the medical register., • Accredited as a member of the Royal College Of General Practitioners (MRCGP) or have 5 yrs experience as a full time GP with a demonstrable commitment to quality practice., • GP Trainer., • Understand the health and social needs of a local practice patient population., • Commitment to personal and professional development.
