Art & Design Teacher / Tutor (Alternative Provision) \n Location: Blackpool, Lancashire \n Agency Partner: Tradewind Recruitment \n Position Type: Long-Term Temporary / Potential Permanent Transition \n Pay Rate: £174.7 - £240.72 per day \n Job Overview \n Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a progressive Alternative Provision (AP) setting in Blackpool to appoint a creative, resilient, and passionate Art Teacher. This role focuses on engaging Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students who have become disengaged from mainstream education or require specialised Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) support. You will use art, design, and practical creativity as a therapeutic and educational tool to help students build self-esteem, express themselves, and achieve meaningful qualifications. \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • \n Plan, prepare, and deliver inclusive, dynamic Art and Design lessons tailored to small group sizes and individual learning needs. \n • \n Adapt the curriculum to suit learners with diverse social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties (SEBD). \n • \n Foster a safe, structured, and inspiring studio environment that encourages positive risk-taking and self-expression. \n • \n Track student progress, manage behaviour effectively using positive behaviour support strategies, and build strong rapport with vulnerable youths. \n • \n Collaborate closely with the AP specialist support team, SENCOs, and Tradewind consultants to ensure holistic student development. \n\n Candidate Requirements \n\n • \n Qualifications: Hold a relevant degree in Fine Art, Art & Design, or a related subject, alongside Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status, or strong proven experience as an Unqualified Teacher / Vocational Instructor. \n • \n Experience:Previous experience working within an Alternative Provision, SEN school, or challenging classroom environments is highly desirable. \n • \n Skills:Exceptional behaviour management skills, emotional resilience, patience, and a natural ability to connect with hard-to-reach young people. \n • \n Compliance: Must hold or be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service. \n\n What Tradewind Recruitment Offers \n\n • \n Top-rate pay packages paid directly through PAYE (no umbrella companies). \n • \n Access to over 2,500 free Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses, webinars, and resources via The National College. \n • \n Dedicated, supportive education consultants who specialise in Lancashire and Blackpool SEND/AP sectors. \n • \n Flexible long-term and supply options tailored to your career goals. \n\n To apply for this role, submit your up-to-date CV through the Tradewind Recruitment portal or contact Christina Grindy directly on or email
