Join a Specialist SEND Team in St Albans, Hertfordshire ! We are Looking for Specialist SEN Teaching Assistants! Set within five beautiful acres in St Albans, Hertfordshire , our school supports students aged 5 16 with Communication and Interaction Difficulties . Many pupils present with Autism traits (diagnosis not essential) and have full Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) . Learners work towards mainstream milestones such as SATs and GCSEs , supported by a passionate and dedicated staff team. We re Looking For: A Specialist Teaching Assistant with proven experience supporting children and young people in SEND school settings . Confident working 1:1 and in small groups, particularly with pupils who have Autism, communication challenges, or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs . Calm, patient, and adaptable able to build trust and promote positive behaviour. A genuine passion for helping students reach their potential. Full-time availability and readiness to commit long-term. Bonus Skills (Desirable but not essential): Training or experience in Makaton, PECS, Team Teach, or Safeguarding . Knowledge of Autism strategies and communication support approaches . A Full UK Driving Licence (helpful for accessing the school, but not essential ). Key Information: No formal qualifications are required ; extensive, relevant experience in a SEND setting is valued most highly. Enhanced DBS (Child Workforce Only) ideally registered on the Update Service (essential for the role). Right to work in the UK. Overseas Police Check if you ve lived abroad for 6+ months in the last 5 years. Up-to-date CV with clear evidence of SEND experience . Why Join Us?
