An opportunity has arisen for an experienced senior planning Manager to join a well-established residential housebuilder, supporting the delivery of major residential and residential-led mixed-use developments from a strategic land portfolio. This is a key role within the Land & Planning team, working closely with senior stakeholders to secure planning permissions and progress sites through allocation, application and delivery. The Role Reporting to the Planning Director, you will be responsible for managing planning strategies and applications across a range of strategic and immediate land opportunities. You will coordinate multi-disciplinary consultant teams, manage programmes and budgets, and work closely with internal Land, Design and Technical teams to ensure planning outcomes align with regional business objectives. Key responsibilities include: • Leading planning strategies for strategic land and residential schemes, • Managing and coordinating planning, technical and environmental consultants, • Delivering outline, full and hybrid planning permissions, • Liaising with Local Authorities, consultees, landowners and agents, • Supporting Section 106 negotiations and planning conditions, • Monitoring programmes and providing clear progress reporting, • Presenting proposals at consultations, committees and (where required) appeals, • Advising on planning policy changes and their commercial implications About You You will be a qualified planning professional with experience gained within a developer, consultancy or Local Planning Authority environment, and ideally exposure to the private housebuilding sector. You will bring: • Post-qualification experience in a planning role, • Experience delivering major residential or residential-led mixed-use schemes, • Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills, • The ability to negotiate, influence and present with confidence, • Commercial awareness and an understanding of the development process Desirable: • RTPI or RICS (Planning & Development) membership, • Regional or local planning knowledge, • Previous experience within a private housebuilder
