Company Overview: KSD Support Services Ltd is part of the KSD Group, a leading building maintenance and facilities management provider operating across the UK. Job Purpose: Preparing accurate cost estimates for projects by gathering information and analysing proposals and requirements. Key Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities are detailed below, however KSD Support Services Ltd may require additional responsibilities to be absorbed within reason from time to time to meet business demands. • Create all small works estimates within the KSD Support Services Ltd business (across all clients)., • Collect client feedback and attend site meetings as and when required., • Liaising with KSD Support Services Ltd Helpdesk daily., • Communicate with trade partners and team members regarding new and current projects and small works., • Understand scope of work to bid., • Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and subcontractors., • Analise drawings and specifications., • Provide clear detailed quantity take offs., • Aim to reach targets set by the Senior Estimator for estimates submitted, either volume or value based., • Calculating the cost of materials, transport, labour, and equipment hire., • Researching and assessing information from a variety of sources to prepare accurate estimates., • Assessing the levels of risk on projects., • Excellent verbal and written communication skills., • Proficient in the use of IT platforms, Outlook, Word, Excel., • The ability to work well as part of a team to achieve both personal and team targets., • Have a positive ‘can do’ attitude., • Flexibility and adaptability to changing workloads., • Experience of working within a fast-paced environment - flexibility and adaptability to changing workloads., • Strong organisation skills and a high attention to detail., • Highly proficient in numeracy., • Excellent time management skills., • NVQ Level 3, HNC, HND or degree in construction management, quantity surveying, building surveying, structural engineering or civil engineering., • Member of the RICS or CIOB., • Knowledge of schedule of rates desirable., • Awareness of Health and Safety procedures and regulations., • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings; Working Hours: • Office Location: Patcham Place, London Road, Brighton, BN1 8YD.
