Deputy Nursery Manager / Room Leader Hammersmith & Fulham, London Full Time | Term Time Only | Permanent £16–£20 per hour Start Date: June 2026 A welcoming and modern private nursery in Hammersmith & Fulham is looking to appoint a passionate and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager / Senior Early Years Practitioner to join their dedicated team. About the Role Working closely alongside the Nursery Manager, you will help oversee the smooth day-to-day running of the nursery while remaining actively involved within the rooms. Youll support staff development, maintain excellent standards of care and learning, and help create a warm, stimulating environment where children can thrive. This role would suit someone with strong EYFS knowledge who is confident leading by example and supporting both children and colleagues alike. Key Responsibilities • Support the Nursery Manager with the daily operations of the nursery • Lead high-quality Early Years practice across the setting • Ensure safeguarding, EYFS, health & safety, and Ofsted standards are consistently maintained • Support and mentor nursery staff and contribute to staff development • Build positive relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals • Complete observations, assessments, planning, and learning journals • Assist with staff rotas, room organisation, and maintaining ratios • Create a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment • Support childrens emotional, social, and developmental progress Requirements, • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare • Previous experience within a nursery or Early Years setting • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and safeguarding procedures • Leadership or senior practitioner experience desirable • Excellent communication and organisational skills • A proactive, caring, and team-focused approach • Passion for supporting young childrens development and wellbeing Whats on Offer, • Supportive and friendly working environment • Modern nursery with excellent resources and facilities • Opportunities for professional development and progression • Competitive hourly pay • Structured shifts with a strong work-life balance • Opportunity to progress into senior leadership within the setting If you are passionate about Early Years education and looking to grow your career within a supportive nursery setting, we would love to hear from you.
