Role Overview: We are seeking a Computational Fluid Dynamics Engineer to support the development of new production programs in electrical machines, permanent magnet generators, and motors. You will design and optimise cooling systems, perform thermo-fluid analysis, and ensure thermal performance for both new and existing machine products. Responsibilities: • Conduct thermal modelling and CFD analysis using ANSYS Fluent, Workbench, SpaceClaim/Discovery, and MotorCAD., • Define cooling system designs and select components to optimise thermal efficiency., • Validate simulation results at Practitioner or advanced User level and produce engineering reports., • Support business inquiries, RFIs, and proposals with technical summaries., • Participate in design reviews and deliver milestones on time., • Respond to operational queries within agreed timelines., • Communicate effectively with peers, team members, and stakeholders., • Lead work packages proactively and deliver presentations to project teams. Required Experience: • 2–5 years in thermal/fluid analysis or related engineering roles., • Hands-on CFD experience with electrical machines or rotating machinery preferred., • ANSYS Thermal/Fluids tools experience at User or Practitioner level (3–4 years preferred)., • Exposure to PLM systems (e.g., Winchill) is a plus. Required Skills: • Strong knowledge of thermo-fluid dynamics and 1D hand calculations., • Proficient in ANSYS Workbench, Fluent, SpaceClaim/Discovery, and MotorCAD., • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences., • Ability to manage ambiguity and deliver to deadlines., • Microsoft Office proficiency., • Experience in thermal design simulation for rotating electrical machines is advantageous. Education: • Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, or equivalent Engineering discipline.
