Moneyfacts' data is used by virtually every bank and building society in the UK, the Bank of England, Financial Conduct Authority, Financial Ombudsman Service, HM Treasury, Prudential Regulatory Authority and UK Finance.INTEREST is a new digital publication from Moneyfacts, using our historic data, intelligent, impartial editorial and graphs to inform readers about what is going on with interest rates.INTEREST is published every six weeks, to fit in with MPC meetings. It focuses specifically on inflation and rate setting. INTEREST seeks to identify the effects, positive or negative, interest rates have on the economy.The RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for an Editor for INTEREST to take the publication forwards. The role would suit an experienced editor or assistant editor from the banking or financial services arena.We are looking for a talented individual with a background in finance, statistics and/or financial data, who can develop this key subject area.The ideal candidate will have specialist writing skills and will be responsible not only for driving the content themes but also writing much of the content themselves.Typical DutiesCoordinate the editorial, design and production teamMaintain existing and develop new industry contactsIdentify good quality contributorsLiaise with industry contacts to identify news storiesTake a lead in monthly editorial meetingsWrite and produce own contentExperience & SkillsPrevious experience in an editorial role, including identifying and commissioning material from contributors/readersEducated to Degree level, ideally in a related subjectPrevious experience working as a writer in financial fieldsBackground in banking and financeSpecialist writing skillsAbility to work with dataKeen interest in current affairsAbility to research and analyse historical data and identify trendsIn depth knowledge and understanding of the role of the Bank of England in UK monetary policy.Previous experience working for or with organisations such as the ONS, Bank of England, Reuters, or the Financial Times would be advantageous.Preferred 5-6 years experience in an editorial or similar role in industryManagement skills, experience of overseeing/managing peopleSalaryCompetitive Salary, commensurate with skills and experience.HoursFull timeAbout UsMoneyfacts Group plc is the UK’s leading provider of retail financial product data and has been pioneering financial comparison technology for over 35 years.
