PLC Software Engineer/PLC Safety Software Engineer/Safety Software Engineer - Siemens - 9 month contract - Hybrid 2 days a week in Hatfield, Hertfordshire - £Negotiable per day - Outside IR35 We're looking for PLC Software Engineers/PLC Safety Software Engineers (Siemens) to help design, develop, and optimise safety-critical control systems used across advanced automation environments. What You'll Do • Develop and maintain safety-related PLC systems (Siemens; Beckhoff a bonus)., • Implement safety functions (E-Stops, interlocks, light curtains, etc.) to global standards., • Support FAT/SAT testing, commissioning, and system optimisation., • Proven experience in PLC programming with strong safety engineering expertise., • Siemens Safety training., • Strong knowledge of safety standards (ISO 13849, IEC 62061, IEC 61508)., • Skilled in TIA Portal and industrial comms (Profibus, Profinet, EtherNet/IP, Modbus)., • STEM degree and ability to work independently across multiple projects.
