Job Title: Scheme Coordinator Location: Harrow Council Hub, Forward Drive, Harrow, Middlesex, UK, HA3 8NT (Onsite working) Employer: Pertemps Recruitment Partnership on behalf of London Borough of Harrow Contract Type: Temporary, ongoing Hours: 36 hours per week Rate: £18.22 per hour Overview of Scheme Coordinator Pertemps Recruitment Partnership is partnering with London Borough of Harrow to recruit a committed and proactive Scheme Coordinator. Essential Requirements • Active enhanced DBS, • Experience in sheltered housing Key Responsibilities • Contribute to service development and tenant involvement to improve tenant satisfaction., • Deliver a comprehensive Enhanced Housing Management service to help tenants maintain their tenancy, access housing services, use technology appropriately, and ensure effective signposting to other services., • Carry out systematic monitoring and inspection of sheltered housing schemes to provide secure, clean and well-maintained communal areas and services., • Deal effectively with a range of complex issues with the potential for significant implications for tenants., • Report and monitor household repairs for tenants unable to do so, and coordinate deployment of handy persons where needed., • Facilitate and promote social activities within the scheme and coordinate use of communal facilities to enhance quality of life for tenants., • Minimise loss of revenue from vacant homes by arranging viewings and monitoring conditions of vacant flats., • Ensure effective resettlement of new tenants, providing information about scheme facilities, tenancy matters and local services., • Liaise with internal and external agencies to minimise rent arrears and promote financial inclusion., • Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and working practices. The successful candidate will demonstrate in the Scheme Coordinator role: • Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety requirements of sheltered housing schemes., • Working knowledge of risk assessments and risk management., • Understanding of equalities issues., • Ability to organise and prioritise workload and act promptly in urgent situations., • Effective communication and liaison skills with colleagues, tenants, carers, council departments and external agencies., • Excellent time management and ability to work with minimal supervision., • Awareness of safeguarding, lone working and customer care issues. Role: Homelessness Prevention & Solutions Officer Location: Harrow Civic Hub, Forward Drive, HA3 8NT Employer: Pertemps Recruitment Partnership (on behalf of the London Borough of Harrow) Contract: Temporary – Initially 3 months, with potential for extension Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday Work Style: Hybrid working Rate: £21.23 per hour PAYE Pertemps Recruitment Partnership is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Homelessness Prevention & Solutions Officer to join the Housing Team at Harrow Council. This is a vital front-line role focused on preventing homelessness, resolving housing crises, and arranging both temporary and long-term accommodation for households in need. Please note that the successful candidate must have a valid UK driving licence, access to a car, and business insurance. Key Responsibilities: • Proactively assess homelessness cases to identify prevention opportunities, • Work directly with individuals and families facing housing crises, • Provide tailored advice in accordance with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, • Develop and implement Personalised Housing Plans (PHPs), • Liaise with landlords, support services, and internal departments to secure suitable housing solutions, • Arrange temporary and settled accommodation as required, • Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with statutory duties Requirements: • Experience in a similar housing or homelessness role within a local authority., • Strong knowledge of housing legislation, including the Housing Acts (1985, 1996), Homelessness Act 2002, and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017., • Good understanding of housing benefit rules, welfare systems, and the private rented sector., • Familiarity with illegal eviction processes, court possession proceedings, and homelessness prevention tools., • Excellent communication, case management, and customer service skills., • Ability to manage a varied caseload independently.
