Key responsibilities include: • 3D design of components and assemblies using SolidWorks, • Creation of detailed manufacturing drawings (GD&T compliant), • Supporting new product introduction (NPI) from concept, prototyping and testing through to production, • Applying DFM/DFA principles to optimise designs, • Creating and maintaining engineering documentation (drawings, BOMs, specifications), • Supporting production with issue resolution and continuous improvement initiatives, • Working with suppliers to source components and resolve technical issues What We’re Looking For • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent), • 3+ years’ experience in mechanical design within a manufacturing environment, • Strong SolidWorks capability (parts, assemblies, drawings), • Experience creating GD&T-compliant drawings, • Understanding of machining, sheet metal, moulding and assembly processes, • Experience supporting production and working cross-functionally, • Exposure to NPI and prototyping, • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems Experience in precision engineering, instrumentation, metrology, opto-mechanical or high-accuracy systems would be advantageous.
