Sector: Energy Transition / Low Carbon Infrastructure Location: Remote (UK) with occasional travel to Manchester, London, Newcastle & Glasgow offices Contract Type: 6-month rolling contract IR35 Status: Inside IR35 Rate: Up to £65.00 per hour (Umbrella) Overview We are seeking an experienced Civil & Structural Engineer to join a leading Energy Transition team, supporting the design and delivery of innovative, low-carbon infrastructure projects. This is an opportunity to work on next-generation and first-of-a-kind energy technologies, contributing to projects that span the full asset lifecycle—from concept development through to detailed design, construction, commissioning, and operation. You will play a key role in delivering practical, efficient and cost-effective structural engineering solutions within a multidisciplinary environment. Key Responsibilities • Develop civil and structural engineering solutions across feasibility, concept, FEED, value engineering, and detailed design stages, • Produce key engineering deliverables including:, • Structural 3D models, • Design calculations and technical reports, • General arrangement (GA) drawings, • Pipe support designs, • Foundation designs and RC detailing, • Support development of integrated 3D plant models and layouts, • Work closely with equipment vendors to develop and refine package designs, • Participate in technical evaluations and design reviews, • Contribute to proposals, bids, and multidisciplinary tender submissions, • Provide support across project lifecycle stages, including potential site involvement during construction and commissioning Required Skills & Experience • Degree in Civil, Structural, or related Engineering discipline, • Working towards Chartered Engineer status with a recognised professional institution, • Strong experience in civil and structural detailed design within energy or industrial sectors, • Solid understanding of national and international design codes and standards, • Strong knowledge of the engineering design process, including scope development and calculation production, • Proficiency in structural and CAD design tools, including:, • Autodesk Revit, • AutoCAD, • Tekla, • Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis (or STAAD Pro), • Civil 3D (desirable), • Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams and contributing to integrated design models, • Strong communication skills with experience engaging clients, contractors, and vendors Project Scope Projects will support the Energy Transition and low-carbon infrastructure sector, including: • First-of-a-kind energy technologies, • Low-carbon and zero-carbon energy systems, • Industrial and process plant infrastructure Additional Information • Remote working with occasional UK office attendance, • Exposure to high-profile energy transition projects, • Collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environment, • Opportunity to work across full project lifecycle stages Summary This is an excellent opportunity for a Civil & Structural Engineer to contribute to cutting-edge energy transition projects, delivering safe, innovative and sustainable infrastructure that will shape the future of low-carbon energy systems.
