About ecce Ecce is a software consultancy based in Otford, Kent. Since 1999, we have built custom platforms, B2B ecommerce systems, and digital tools for clients including Stabicraft Marine NZ, Chrisco Australia, the NHS, and Sennheiser. We are a small, experienced team that takes long-term relationships seriously - with our clients and with each other. We do not do off-the-shelf. We build things that last. Our core stack is PHP and Laravel. We design in Figma, build in Laravel, style with Tailwind, and manage content with our own CMS, Ensmeble. If you want to work on real, complex problems for real businesses, this is the right place. The Role We are looking for a middleweight developer to join a tight-knit team delivering custom web applications, B2B ecommerce platforms, and bespoke client tooling. You will work across a range of active projects from day one. You are comfortable writing clean backend code, building frontends, and pushing work through to production without needing your hand held. You are not a junior. You are not a senior looking to lead. You are someone who knows their tools well, writes good code, asks smart questions, and gets things done. What You Will Work On • Custom Laravel applications for B2B clients across manufacturing, logistics, telecoms, and professional services, • Ecommerce platforms handling significant transaction volumes, • ERP and third-party API integrations, • Craft CMS builds and bespoke plugin development, • Internal tooling and client-facing dashboards, • 3 to 5 years of commercial development experience, • Strong Laravel and PHP skills - you know the framework properly, not just the surface, • Vue and/or React experience - components, state, hooks, real-world builds, • Tailwind CSS - you use it daily, not occasionally, • Comfortable with REST APIs, database design, and version control via Git, • Craft CMS development or plugin experience, • ERP integration experience (Greentree, MYOB, or similar), • Ecommerce background (custom platforms, not just Shopify), • Familiarity with Jira and agile workflows, • Python - scripting, automation, data handling If your idea of a great hire is someone who can hold a conversation about something other than Tailwind components, you have come to the right place. We are a small team. Character matters as much as capability. What We Offer • Competitive salary (commensurate with experience), • Hybrid working - our office is in Otford, Kent, • A small team where your work genuinely matters, • Long-term, varied client work - no two projects are the same, • 26 years of institutional knowledge to learn from
