Head of Sales – Passive Fire Protection Location: UK (National Role) Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time Industry: Construction Products / Passive Fire Protection / Building Materials Overview Finlay Jude Associates are working with a leading manufacturer in the Construction products and Passive Fire protection industry. We’re seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Sales to lead and develop the UK and Ireland sales function for a business renowned for its innovation, product quality, and compliance expertise. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving commercial growth, managing a high-performing sales team, and building long-term partnerships across the construction value chain. The successful candidate will play a pivotal part in expanding the company’s presence in the Passive fire protection, Façade, Insulation, and Dry lining sectors, ensuring products are specified and adopted within key building projects nationwide. You’ll work collaboratively across Marketing, Technical, Customer Service, and Production to deliver a seamless customer experience and ensure the commercial success of the product range. You’ll also represent the company as an industry ambassador — hosting CPD seminars, attending trade shows, and supporting product training for contractors, specifiers, and distribution partners. Key Responsibilities • Lead, manage, and develop the UK and Ireland regional sales teams with clear performance metrics and KPIs., • Drive field sales across the passive fire protection, façades, insulation, and dry lining sectors., • Generate specifications and protect pipeline projects through proactive relationship management with architects, main contractors, and subcontractors., • Identify and pursue new business opportunities while tracking industry trends and competitor activity., • Work cross-functionally with internal teams to align sales objectives with marketing campaigns, technical support, and production capacity., • Oversee pricing strategy, budget allocation, and forecasting accuracy., • Deliver data-driven sales reports, analysing pipeline health, conversion rates, and market segmentation., • Champion sales enablement tools such as CRM and ERP systems to enhance productivity and reporting accuracy., • Represent the business at trade events, exhibitions, and CPD presentations, showcasing technical expertise and product benefits., • Travel nationally to visit project sites, customers, and distributors. Key Skills and Experience • Minimum 5 years’ experience in technical or specification sales within the construction industry., • Strong background in selling to dry lining contractors, façade installers, main contractors, architects, and distributors., • Proven experience in passive fire protection, insulation, or fire-resistant building materials is highly advantageous., • Technical aptitude with the ability to understand compliance standards, fire performance ratings, and product certification requirements., • Confident presenter with experience delivering CPD seminars or technical product training., • Commercially astute with strong analytical and negotiation skills., • Experience using CRM/ERP systems (HubSpot, Tropos, or similar)., • Familiarity with CAD drawings and construction schematics is a plus., • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Qualifications • Ideally educated to degree level in Construction, Engineering, or Business Management (or equivalent experience)., • Recognised background within the construction products or building materials sector., • Strong digital skills across MS Office and CRM platforms.
