Graduate Tutor – Psychology & Criminology | Pathway to Clinical & Education Careers Location: Bromley, London Job Type: Full-time | Part-time | Flexible Hours Pay Rate: £20–£25 per hour (PAYE) New Chapter Tuition is recruiting Psychology and Criminology graduates to join our team as Graduate Tutors in Bromley and surrounding areas. This role is ideal for aspiring Clinical Psychologists, Teachers, Youth Justice Workers, and Social Care professionals seeking meaningful, hands-on experience supporting children and young people with additional needs. You will provide 1:1 support to learners with SEND, SEMH, ADHD, and those who may be disengaged from or excluded from mainstream education. Sessions take place in community-based environments including homes, libraries, learning hubs, and alternative provisions. Mandatory Training Programme All Graduate Tutors must complete a compulsory training programme before working independently. • 30–45 hours of structured training, • Online learning modules, reflective tasks, and assessed activities, • Training in SEND, SEMH, ADHD, safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, behaviour management, and nurture-led tutoring, • Deliver personalised 1:1 tutoring and emotional support, • Apply psychological and behavioural knowledge to support engagement, • Plan and adapt sessions to meet individual learning needs, • Support emotional regulation, confidence-building, and academic progress, • Build positive, trusting relationships with learners, • Monitor progress and liaise with families and professionals, • Work independently in community and alternative education settingsCandidate RequirementsEssential, • Degree in Psychology, Criminology, or related subject, • Strong interest in SEND, mental health, behaviour, or youth justice, • Calm, patient, and empathetic approach, • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, • Commitment to completing mandatory trainingDesirable, • Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable groups, • Knowledge of SEMH, ADHD, or trauma-informed practice, • Interest in careers in clinical psychology, teaching, youth justice, or social workWhat We Offer, • Competitive hourly pay following training completion, • Flexible working hours to suit your schedule, • Free CPD and professional development opportunities, • Access to specialist education and psychology webinars, • Ongoing supervision and mentoring New Chapter Tuition is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
