Job Title: Workshop Manager Department: Scenic Reports to: Head of Scenic Salary: Circa £45,000 Location: South London About the Company We are a large-scale event production company delivering end-to-end solutions for world-class brands including. All production is delivered in-house, with a comprehensive scenic capability that spans concept, design, build, and integrated AV delivery. Our scenic team produces a broad range of work—from corporate presentation stages and exhibitions to retail environments and experiential activations—offering full set design through to fabrication and on-site integration. The Role We are seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to lead and coordinate workshop operations within our scenic department. This role is critical to ensuring the efficient, safe, and high-quality delivery of scenic builds across a diverse and demanding project portfolio. Working closely with the Head of Scenic, production teams, designers, and project managers, you will be responsible for overseeing workshop resources, schedules, and outputs, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities • Manage day-to-day operations of the scenic workshop, including workflow planning and resource allocation, • Ensure quality control, health & safety compliance, and best-practice workshop processes, • Coordinate with design, production, and AV teams to ensure seamless integration, • Manage workshop staff, freelancers, and suppliers as required, • Maintain equipment, materials, and workshop facilities, • Support continuous improvement across build methods, efficiencies, and standards About You • Proven experience managing a workshop within scenic, set build, exhibition, or event production environments, • Strong leadership and organisational skills, • Deep understanding of scenic fabrication techniques and materials, • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment, • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach, • A proactive, solution-focused mindset with high attention to detail Benefits • 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays (30 days total), • An additional day’s holiday for each year of service (up to 30 days plus bank holidays), • Health insurance package, • Cycle to Work scheme, • Electric Vehicle scheme This is an outstanding opportunity to join a growing scenic operation at a pivotal moment in its evolution, working on high-profile projects for globally recognised brands within a supportive and ambitious production environment.
