HEAD OF NEURODIVERSITY / CLINICAL LEAD Location: You would ideally be based near either Durham or Teesside. JOB PURPOSE This combined role will lead the development and delivery of neurodiversity workplace assessments across the Occupational Health (OH) service while supporting the Registered Manager to meet all regulatory requirements. The role acts as the clinical SME for neurodiversity, driving new service innovation (2–3 days per week) and providing clinical leadership, governance support, and quality oversight (1–2 days per week). KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Head of Neurodiversity – Occupational Health (2–3 days per week) Service Design & Development • Lead the creation, design, and implementation of a new Neurodiversity Workplace Assessment Service within the OH business., • Develop clinical pathways, assessment models, and reporting templates tailored to workplace needs (e.g., functional impact, reasonable adjustments, job‑carving recommendations)., • Act as the organisation’s clinical Subject Matter Expert on neurodiversity, including Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, and other neurodevelopmental conditions., • Develop and deliver training for OH clinicians on neurodiversity‑inclusive assessment, communication, and mitigation of workplace barriers., • Work closely with operations, commercial teams, and OH leadership to promote and position the new service externally., • Build relationships with HR leaders, occupational health clients, and workplace adjustment specialists to drive service uptake., • Develop SOPs, clinical guidance, and best‑practice frameworks aligned with national guidance on workplace adjustments and neurodiversity., • Ensure assessments are consistent, defensible, and high quality across the service. Clinical Lead (1–2 days per week) CQC Governance & Regulatory Support • Support the Registered Manager in ensuring full compliance with CQC Fundamental Standards and statutory responsibilities., • Contribute to inspections, audits, evidence gathering, and quality improvement plans., • Provide clinical oversight, supervision, and reflective practice for clinicians within the service., • Support safe caseload management, escalation routes, and clinical decision‑making processes., • Participate in audit cycles, quality reviews, and root cause analysis where required., • Identify themes and recommend actions to enhance service quality, safety, and claimant experience., • Act as deputy or delegated clinical lead for the Registered Manager where appropriate., • Work closely with safeguarding leads, governance teams, and operational managers to maintain a robust clinical environment. KEY SKILLS • Significant experience working with neurodivergent individuals in clinical, workplace, or assessment settings., • Strong understanding of neurodevelopmental conditions, functional impact, and reasonable adjustment principles., • Experience designing or improving clinical pathways or services., • Demonstrated ability to lead service development projects and introduce new clinical offerings., • Strong coaching, supervision, and clinical leadership skills., • Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with clinicians, managers, clients, and senior leaders., • Ability to translate specialist neurodiversity knowledge into practical, accessible guidance for workplaces. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS • Launch of Neurodiversity Workplace Assessment Service, • Service uptake, • Contributions to quality improvement EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS Essential • Relevant clinical qualification (e.g., mental health nursing, occupational therapy, psychology, speech and language therapy) with registration to a recognised professional body (HCPC/NMC/etc.)., • Experience delivering workplace assessments or occupational health interventions.
