Job Title: TIG Welder / Sheet Metal Fabricator \n Department: Manufacturing / Production \n Employment Type: Full-Time \n Position Overview \n We are seeking a skilled TIG Welder / Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our production team. You will be responsible for fabricating, fitting, and welding high-quality thin-gauge sheet metal assemblies (primarily stainless steel, aluminum, and mild steel). The ideal candidate has precise torch control, strong blueprint-reading skills, and expert knowledge of heat management to prevent burn-through or warping on thin materials. \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • \n TIG Welding: Perform high-precision GTAW/TIG welding on thin-gauge sheet metal (typically 0.5mm to 3mm / 24 ga to 11 ga) in stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel. \n • \n Fabrication & Assembly: Set up, clamp, tack-weld, and assemble components according to engineering blueprints, schematic drawings, and welding symbols. \n • \n Material Prep & Finishing: Degrease, clean, brush, and prep joints prior to welding; dress, grind, blend, and finish completed welds to specified surface standards (e.g., cosmetic/architectural finishes or sanitary specs). \n • \n Machine Setups: Adjust TIG machine parameters (amperage, high frequency, pulse, shielding gas flow, tungsten selection) tailored to material type and thickness. \n • \n Quality & Tolerance Control: Inspect finished welds for penetration, porosity, undercut, and alignment using precision measuring instruments. Maintain strict tolerance limits. \n • \n Safety & Maintenance: Maintain a clean workspace, perform daily preventative maintenance on welding torches and equipment, and adhere to all OSHA/PPE safety protocols. \n
