We are passionate about helping individuals gain industry-relevant skills that lead to real career opportunities.\n\nWe are now looking to appoint a skilled and experienced Welding Tutor with an engineering background to join our Birmingham team and support the development of the next generation of welding professionals.\n\nRole Overview\n\nAs a Welding Tutor, you will deliver high-quality welding training to learners using our fully equipped workshop facilities. This role combines classroom-based theory with hands-on practical instruction across a range of welding processes.\n\nYou’ll play a vital role in building learners’ technical skills, confidence, and employability, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Design, develop, and update welding training materials and lesson plans in line with industry standards\n\n * Deliver engaging classroom sessions covering welding theory, processes, and safe working practices\n\n * Provide practical demonstrations and one-to-one coaching within the welding workshop\n\n * Monitor and assess learner progress through practical assessments, written work, and project-based tasks\n\n * Provide clear, constructive feedback to support learner development\n\n * Maintain a safe learning environment and enforce health and safety standards at all times\n\n * Ensure welding equipment, tools, and materials are well maintained and fit for purpose\n\n * Mentor and support learners, helping them build skills, confidence, and career readiness\n\n * Stay up to date with industry developments, technologies, and regulatory requirements\n\nEssential Skills & Experience\n\n * Strong practical welding experience across MIG, TIG, and ARC processes\n\n * Experience working with a range of materials and fabrication techniques\n\n * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills\n\n * A strong commitment to health and safety\n\n * A genuine passion for teaching, mentoring, and developing others\n\nDesirable (but not essential)\n\n * Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline\n\n * Previous teaching, tutoring, or training experience\n\n * Recognised welding certifications (e.g. AWS, ASME, EAL or equivalent)\n\nBenefits\n\n * Competitive salary (£30,000 – £35,000 per year)\n\n * Generous holiday entitlement\n\n * Company pension scheme\n\n * Professional development and training opportunities\n\n * Supportive and collaborative working environment\n\n * Casual dress policy
