Building on the opportunities emerging from North East Combined Authority to enhance its regeneration impact, taking its lead from Northumberland County Council, and working in collaboration with key partners. Our Design Team is part of the wider Ascent Homes team, our new homes building division. We are now recruiting an additional Design Coordinator to support the work of the team. The Role - Design Coordinator Salary: £31,064 - £45,000 depending on experience Reporting to the Design Manager, you will assist the design team in design coordination from project inception through to completion. Ensuring all design information is received, understood and managed by the team. Duties and Responsibilities: · Support on managing the design process during the pre-construction stages · Support in development of pre-construction programme, monitor progress and issue reports · Support in discharge of planning conditions · Manage Risk Register & Mitigation strategy · Appoint and manage the external Design team where required · Identify opportunities for VE · Coordinate liaising with Local Planning Authority departments and others as required. · Identify project risks and mitigation strategies. · Provide regular updates regarding scheme progress and attend regular project meetings. · Report and monitor design/technical elements of the full project duration. · Maintain good relationships with other Local Authorities / Consultants / Statutory Authorities / RP’s / Government Agencies. · Liaise with Client and Key Stakeholders/Consultants · Represent the Technical / Design Department at internal & external meetings · Work with internal Design Team to support preparation of construction drawings /schedules /details/specifications etc. · Review designs for compliance with NHBC and other statutory regulations. · Review compliance of design against Employer’s Requirements/ Specs/Contractors Proposals/Budget · Develop development solutions with the commercial team where required including VE · Coordinate and monitor technical and legislative requirements such as planning, building regulations and warranty conditions, utility procurement and NHBC requirements such as planning, building regulations and warranty conditions · Ensure all design work is CDM compliant · Provide a complete and comprehensive package of technical documents and ensure all approvals are obtained. · Work with external consultants, suppliers, manufacturers and internal teams to ensure that engineering and technical drawings and specifications are accurate and commercially viable throughout the construction process. · Procure surveys and investigations and ensure that the contents of the work are coordinated with the consultant’s information and that the business understands the impacts and responsibilities they have on the work.
