School Receptionist - SEND Secondary School Location: Redhill area, SurreyContract Type: Permanent, Term Time OnlyActual Salary: £24,139.67 - £24,818.65 (dependent on qualifications and experience) + £1,000 welcome bonusHourly Rate: £13.51 - £13.89 per hourHours: 40 hours per week, Term Time Only About the School We are delighted to be supporting a SEND Secondary School in the Redhill area, catering for young people aged 11-16 who require support with social communication, emotional regulation, and sensory processing needs, typically associated with Autism. The school offers a personalised, engaging curriculum aligned with the national curriculum, delivered in small classes with high levels of support and a multi-disciplinary intervention team to ensure every student has every opportunity to achieve. The Role The school are seeking a confident, organised, and personable Receptionist to be the welcoming face of the school. You will be responsible for managing the reception area, handling telephone enquiries, supporting visitors, and providing day-to-day administrative support to the wider school team. You will primarily be based at the school’s main site, with occasional work at a nearby satellite site when required. Key Responsibilities • Act as the first point of contact for all visitors, ensuring safeguarding checks (ID verification, signing in/out) are always followed., • Manage reception and front desk operations throughout the school day., • Answer and direct telephone calls, identifying requirements and responding appropriately., • Welcome and support visitors, contractors, and stakeholders., • Manage gate control and monitor visitor access., • Receive, log, and pass on messages in a timely, professional manner., • Handle incoming and outgoing post., • Prepare documents, reports, presentations, letters, and general correspondence., • Maintain accurate filing systems and digital records., • Support the Attendance Management Information System for students., • Organise meeting rooms and support diary management., • Monitor and order office supplies where required., • Maintain the reception area to ensure it is tidy, safe, and welcoming., • Liaise with office suppliers and the maintenance team for repairs., • Assist with enquiries for the Referrals Team, including scheduling assessments., • Provide general administration support to the wider team as required., • Willingness to support the satellite location when required. About You Skills & Experience • Excellent verbal and written communication skills., • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks., • Good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE English & Maths preferred)., • Previous experience in an administrative or reception role (preferred)., • Confident using IT systems including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and databases., • Enhanced Child DBS or willingness to apply for one, • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children., • Willingness to undertake training and contribute to the organisation’s values and ethos.
