While each client has pets with different exercise needs, most clients need help getting their dogs tired out - so not all appointments are a leisurely stroll with an elderly pup. We also walk on different pathways and in all kinds of weather so coordination along with pace is needed to be successful. Able to walk at a moderate-to-fast pace (including hills) for long periods of time in all weather conditions, for approximately 4-10 miles a day (depending on hours). Wave Aquatics will provide the opportunity for candidates to become certified Lifeguards free of charge prior to employment. Candidates must be able to pass Red Cross Lifeguarding Course prerequisites: • Complete a swim-tread-swim sequence without stopping for rest:, • Jump in the water and totally submerge, resurface then swim 150 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both (swimming on the back or side is not permitted. Swim goggles are allowed)., • Maintain position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes by treading water using only the legs., • Swim 50 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both., • Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds:, • Starting in the water, swim 20 yards (The face may be in or out of the water.
