Job DescriptionJob Title: Shipping and Receiving Associate Job Description Join our team as a Shipping and Receiving Associate, where you'll play a crucial role in ensuring that trucks are loaded and ready for dispatch each morning. This position requires adeptness in operating forklifts, side loaders, or overhead cranes as you load and organize shipments based on work orders. You'll be working the 1st shift from Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with a low-priority opening on the 3rd shift from Sunday to Thursday, 9:30 PM to 6:00 AM. Responsibilities • Complete basic, routine tasks following detailed instructions., • Move inventory or equipment, fulfill customer orders, and handle materials from racks., • Unload incoming materials, load trucks or customer vehicles, and maintain the warehouse's upkeep., • Receive, place, or return items into stock inventory locations., • Pull and assemble orders by reviewing work or shipping orders., • Tag materials for proper identification and complete all required documentation., • Transport materials using forklifts, side loaders, or cranes., • Operate yard trucks for loading and unloading trailers., • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area., • Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to size, type, or product code., • Perform spot checks on inventory and conduct daily or ad hoc checks for proper material tagging as directed., • Report any irregularities to supervisors for guidance., • Restock materials as needed., • Occasionally drive a motor vehicle (non-DOT truck) for local deliveries and parts pick-ups., • Ensure compliance with applicable safety and quality standards., • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.Essential Skills, • Experience with forklifts, shipping and receiving, and material handling., • Lifting and moving boxes, inventory control, and packaging., • Experience in stocking, loading/unloading trucks, and overhead crane operation.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • 0-5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience., • High School diploma or GED preferred., • Warehousing and material handling experience preferred., • Manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination., • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and apply common sense understanding., • Basic measurement and arithmetic skills, including converting decimals and fractions., • Basic computer proficiency and working knowledge of software applications., • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively., • Ability to make sound decisions based on knowledge, experience, and judgment., • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and 60 pounds repetitively., • Capability to stand for extended periods and move on and off truck trailers., • Ability to push or pull up to 80 pounds of force., • Ability to work in temperatures exceeding 100 degrees F and below 32 degrees F., • Develop and maintain good working relationships with supervisors and co-workers.Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, Kansas. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
