Job DescriptionJob Title: Shipping and Receiving Associate Job Description This role involves working on the 1st shift from 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The associate will be responsible for loading trucks overnight, ensuring they are ready for dispatch in the morning. This may involve the operation of forklifts, side loaders, or overhead cranes. The position also includes reading work orders, locating parts, and loading them onto trucks. Responsibilities • Complete basic, routine tasks with detailed instructions., • Move inventory or equipment, fill customer orders, pull material from racks, unload incoming material, load trucks and/or customer vehicles, and help maintain the upkeep of the warehouse., • Receive and place/return items into stock inventory locations., • Pull and assemble orders based on reviewing work/shipping orders or other documentation., • Tag material for proper identification and complete all required documentation., • Move material from receiving or production areas to storage or designated areas using forklifts, side loaders, or cranes., • Operate a yard truck for loading and unloading trailers., • Maintain work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition., • Sort and place material on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, or product code., • Perform spot checks on inventory and complete daily and/or ad hoc checks for proper tagging of material, as directed., • Report any irregularities to the supervisor for direction., • Restock material as needed., • Occasionally drive a non-DOT truck for local deliveries and parts pick-ups., • Adhere to and ensure compliance with applicable safety and quality standards., • Perform all other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.Essential Skills, • Forklift operation, • Shipping and receiving, • Material handling, • Inventory control, • Packaging, • Stocking, • Loading/unloading trucks, • Overhead crane operationAdditional Skills & Qualifications, • 0-5 years of relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience., • High School diploma/GED preferred., • Warehousing and material handling experience preferred., • Manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination., • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions., • Common sense understanding to carry out instructions., • Basic measurement skills and arithmetic., • Basic computer proficiency., • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively., • Sound decision-making based on knowledge, experience, and judgment., • Ability to lift 100 pounds occasionally, 60 pounds repetitively., • Ability to stand for sustained periods., • Ability to push or pull 80 pounds of force., • Ability to go up and down truck trailers repeatedly., • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with supervisors and co-workers.Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, Kansas. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
