Job Description Day Shift: Wednesday, Friday, Saturday (6:30A-7:30P) Day Shift: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday (6:30a-7:30p) Night Shift: Friday, Saturday, Sunday (6:30P-7:30A 12.5 hour work days, 37.5 hour work weeks REQUIREMENTS: 1+ year of experience working in a Data Center or NOC Environment Experience monitoring dashboards & alerts, highly preferred Basic Networking Skill and Knowledge Experience working with a ticketing system (ideally SNOW) Day to Day: Insight Global’s healthcare client is seeking a L1 Data Center/NOC Technician who will be responsible for the monitoring and health of the Central Data Center. They are responsible for the creation of the Active Directory accounts, ensuring a stable operating environment and will make sure they are attaining maximum utilization of system facilities. They may be required to troubleshoot and restore routine technical service and peripheral equipment, as well as schedules and performs production runs. Additionally, they will perform triaging of calls to admins within the Server, Messaging, Network, Backup, San, and UNIX teams to ensure the appropriate person is contacted only on an as needed basis. . Job Specific Requirements: • Monitors the ops mailbox and acts an all emails/requests., • Monitors opmanager. When an alert is sent, performs next steps as stated in the alarm., • Monitor systems and interfaces. Monitor Interface Engine which includes troubleshooting error conditions and working with analysts and vendor when necessary, • Ensure immediate escalation of production issues to Manager or to the Director in the absence of the Manager., • Escalate/Communicate all other issues/concerns to Manager/Director, as applicable., • Effectively communicate with Manager, cross functional team leads/team members, clients & vendors. (both Written & Verbal)., • Communicate effectively with the user community regarding the status during system downtimes and unusual circumstances., • Is resourceful in all types of circumstances, especially difficult situations., • Monitors BMS system, handles/escalates issues as they occur., • Acts on high priority tickets immediately and escalates as needed., • Run jobs/ processes in accordance with procedures., • Performs walk thru of the data center, UPS room and transformer room on each shift. Opens tickets for appropriate teams for any alerts discovered and escalates any major issue to manager., • Perform necessary actions related to each of the 30 day account expiration lists and emails received. Follow-up as necessary., • Control access of vendors and outside employees needing to enter the data center. Check to see if they are expected, signed in and out and notify manager. Ensure all unauthorized visitors are denied access., • Provide Phone Support/ helpdesk functions. Works with other IT teams when needed., • Publish Daily Morning Report., • Attend morning call. Review morning report and quarterback issues on call., • Acts as quarterback afterhours and escalates issues to appropriate teams., • Perform receiving duties for deliveries for operations and other teams. Operates loading dock, sign for deliveries and communicates with other teams on the status of the delivery., • Perform Operational/Administrative duties with quality., • Has the knowledge to know where to look for department documentation. Demonstrates the ability to read, understand and follow departmental documentation before asking for assistance from a co-worker., • Create, maintain & post applicable documentation in the Operations Team share., • Logs, sends and receives off site tapes on an as needed basis., • Has the ability to prioritize shift responsibilities., • Attend & participate in meetings with Manager and all other areas of RWJBH., • Demonstrates ownership by taking the initiative to bring about positive results, not waiting for others, caring about the outcome and being accountable for the result of the action., • Completes special projects assigned by the Manager in a professional manner. Completes projects according to established guidelines and time frames of the request. Uses effective time management skills to complete a given task without jeopardizing normal daily work requirements. Takes the initiative to follow up with Management regarding any suggestions or alternative ways to complete a project., • Takes the initiative to follow through with a plan or task without being asked by others., • Document, create and maintain user accounts and logins for network users, email and other Active Directory Applications spanning across the RWJBarnabas Health system. Grant and assign appropriate permissions to Shared directories, • Document all permission changes within the tracking system and Active Directory when appropriate., • Communicate effectively to all Department & user personnel on progress of problem. Keep user informed if resolution takes longer then agreed time frame & responds to user queries about problems., • Provide updates to users on status of requests submitted when asked by users. Keep Manager informed of trends noticed, and problems that have not been resolved, • Disable users when requested by management or termination process
