Job Description Occupational Therapist (OT) – Special Education School United Staffing Solutions (USS) is representing a growing, 12-month special education private school seeking a creative, passionate Occupational Therapist (OT) for a direct-hire, permanent role. This Occupational Therapist position is on-site in Lower Manhattan (Financial District adjacent) near multiple subway lines and NJ PATH train. Schedule: • Full-time preferred: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (12-month program), • Part-time (hourly) options also considered Compensation & Benefits • Salary (full-time): $75,000–$95,000 DOE (depending on experience), • Part-time (hourly): competitive, DOE, • Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Paid Time Off About the Role (Occupational Therapist / OT) As an Occupational Therapist on a collaborative, multidisciplinary team (teachers, Speech/Language, PT, Counseling), you’ll support PK–8 students in 1:1, 1:2, and small-group settings, with opportunities to push-in to classrooms. Most mandates are 2x/week @ 30 minutes, and the OT suite is new and well-equipped (robust sensory gym). Key Responsibilities for the Occupational Therapist / OT: • Conducting formal evaluations and ongoing informal assessments; interpreting findings to identify functional levels and needs, • Collaborating with teachers, paraprofessionals, and families; maintaining clear, proactive communication on student progress, • Designing student-centered treatment plans; utilizing varied, evidence-informed activities to meet individual goals, • Providing direct and indirect services (1:1, very small groups, and classroom push-in as appropriate), • Preparing Progress Reports; documenting sessions and narrative logs; completing monthly summaries to inform progress reporting, • Participating in team meetings; preparing documents for CSE/CE meetings and, if applicable, impartial hearings, • Ensuring make-up sessions and mandated services are consistently met Qualifications for the Occupational Therapist / OT: • Current NYS OT license (and ability to provide an NPI number), • School-based/pediatric experience preferred, • Excellent written and verbal communication; growth mindset and collaborative approach Why Join • Direct-hire, permanent Occupational Therapist role in a mission-driven, 12-month program, • New, fully equipped facilities including a sensory gym, • Ongoing professional development and supportive, team-based culture How to Apply Are you ready to make a real difference in the lives of children who need your expertise?
