An AmLaw 200 firm seeks an Employee Benefits Partner with 10+ yrs of experience and a Book of Business Job Details Job Details: We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Employee Benefits Partner with a strong background in Employee Benefits Law that ideally has a Book of Business . This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team and play a pivotal role in our legal department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse range of employee benefits matters and will work closely with different teams to ensure our company's compliance with various laws and regulations. Responsibilities: • Provide legal advice and guidance on the design, implementation, and operation of various employee benefit plans, including retirement, health, and welfare plans., • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including ERISA, IRS code, and employee retirement income security., • Assist with business formation, shareholder agreements, M&A, and other corporate transactions., • Advise on complex issues related to 409A, 280G, equity compensation, proxy review, securities law, and benefit law., • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that our company's employee benefits plans are compliant, competitive, and cost-effective., • Represent the company in any legal proceedings related to employee benefits., • Collaborate with other departments, including HR, Finance, and Compliance, to ensure a holistic approach to employee benefits., • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school., • Must be a member in NY and good standing with the State Bar., • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in employee benefits law, preferably in a corporate setting or law firm., • In-depth knowledge of ERISA, IRS code, and other relevant laws and regulations., • Experience with business formation, shareholder agreements, M&A, 409A, 280G, equity compensation, proxy review, securities law, and benefit law., • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills., • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal individuals., • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines., • High level of professionalism and integrity., • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
