Job Description Position Overview: The position of the Mechanic is to maintain, diagnose and repair fleet vehicles, specializing on buses. The mechanic is responsible for repairing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, striving toward maximum reliability, functionality and safety. State DOT regulations., • Performs and analyzes diagnostic testing., • Responsible for operating vehicles while in strict compliance with Company policies, directives, and procedures and all traffic laws and regulations., • Conducts road tests to ensure fleet vehicles are operating in a safe and reliable manner, salt roads and participates in snow removal as needed., • Performs on-the-road repairs and road calls when necessary., • Effectively communicates with supervisors regarding equipment concerns and observations., • Utilizes various types of tools such as hand and power tools to perform repairs., • Maintains and repairs shop equipment as needed., • Responsible for performing all tasks in a safe manner, in an effort to reduce or eliminate accidents., • Interprets and applies knowledge from vehicle service manual and schematics to assist in the completion of repairs., • Performs system upgrades, campaigns and modifications on fleet vehicles as needed., • Participates in safety and educational training as required., • Assists fellow mechanics with repairs as needed., • Maintains equipment and work space safety and cleanliness Position Qualifications: • Required a minimum High School Diploma, GED or equivalent., • ASE certification preferred., • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a mechanic preferred., • Must have and maintain an excellent Driver’s License, valid CDL preferred. CDL license required preceding the 5th month of employment as a mechanic., • Must have knowledge of technical and diagnostic equipment, including computer comprehension., • Must have a complete set of hand tools, in accordance with the department’s tools list., • Must be able to work any scheduled hours such as dayshift, nightshift, weekends, holidays, floater and overtime as needed., • Must have the ability to operate all mechanical equipment., • Must be able to document repairs, and diagnosis on assigned transit vehicles., • Must have a basic understanding of the design, adjustment, overhaul operation and maintenance of transmissions, heavy-duty engines and other fleet components., • Required to read schematics, maintenance manuals and interpret safety documents., • Must have excellent communication skills. Your responsibilities will include: • Greet customers promptly with a professional and friendly attitude, • Serve as the liaison between customers, body shops, insurance companies, and dealership departments, • Collect accurate customer, insurance, and vehicle information, • Listen carefully to customers and document vehicle concerns and symptoms accurately, • Prepare complete and accurate estimates for labor and parts, • Establish customer follow-up preferences and communicate through phone, text, or email, • Monitor the progress of each vehicle throughout the repair process, • Keep customers informed with timely updates throughout the day, • Coordinate with technicians, parts departments, and body shops to ensure repairs stay on track, • Review repair orders and verify that final invoices accurately reflect the work performed, • Clearly explain completed repairs, recommendations, and charges to customers, • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the entire repair experience Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year Our ideal candidate is an experienced automotive professional who understands the importance of exceptional customer service and attention to detail. Requirements: • 3–5 years of experience in a high-line or luxury dealership, • Previous Body Shop Advisor experience is required, • Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer satisfaction, • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, • High-energy, positive, and friendly personality, • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, • Strong organizational and time-management skills, • Personal and professional integrity, • Commitment to ongoing product, process, and CSI training, • Experience using in-lane tablets or similar dealership technology is a plus, • Strong computer and technology skills Why Pepe Auto Group? Balances, installs, and rotates tires. Stocks tires and batteries and repairs tires. Answers questions, makes recommendations, and assists members with purchasing/returning tires and batteries. Provides a high level of member service. Job Duties: • Locates member cars in the tire shop area of the lot., • Lists body damage on service order., • Drives member vehicle into install bay and onto hydraulic hoist., • Raises auto. Removes the wheel using an impact gun. Rolls wheel to mounting machine, removes tire from wheel. Cleans hub and wheel rim with wire brush. Attaches new valve stem, mounts new tire on wheel, fills tire to appropriate air pressure. Operates automatic balance machine to get reading of proper weight and placement to balance wheel. Attaches weights (including tape weights) to rims with a weight hammer. Mounts wheels to auto using the impact gun according to Tire Shop procedures., • Repairs flat tires for members and non-members., • Assists members in determining tire and battery needs, answers questions, makes product recommendations, sells tires. Invoices tire purchase and service invoice. Loads tires on dolly or rolls tires to install area. Alerts supervisor or manager to complete torque check and 10-point check and authorize vehicle release. Parks member auto in lot, and returns invoice and keys to sales desk., • Cleans the installation area by sweeping, mopping, spraying, and wiping. Stocks tires and batteries in the sales area in accordance with Tire Shop Manager's merchandising plan. Rings up orders. Receives accurate payment, makes change, processes checks, credit and debit charges, gives out receipt and submits order according to proper procedures. Calculates refund amount for certain warranty returns of tires and auto batteries. Communicates with Tire Shop Manager, Buyers, Receiving Departments, and Inventory Auditors regarding special orders, quantity, status, price, delivery, and promotion of merchandise. Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of potentially hazardous materials spills. Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery. Assists with department duties as necessary. Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
