Job Description JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Administrative Assistant Duties • Assist with insurance authorizations, • Create and share lab orders, as necessary, based on the visit, • Triage patient questions, • Respond to and document urgent patient calls and messages, • Answer basic medical questions, • Serve as liaison between patient and provider, • Manage patient portal messages and disseminate information as appropriate, • Communicate quickly and clearly with patients, providers, and other staff, • Create recalls and tasks as necessary, • Integrate information from intake questionnaires into consultation notes, • Prepare charts for appointments, • Label and file labs and documents in patient charts, • Organize labs from functional and traditional lab sources., • Reconcile medical history prior to appointments, • Ensure diagnosis codes are appropriate based on the information provided from the visit, • Ensure any prescriptions mentioned in the note are placed (phone and e-fax) and, if not, notify provider, • Call in compounded prescriptions, • Ensure each chart is clear and understandable for the patient, • Ensure each chart is clear and understandable for the patient and provider, • Correct spelling, grammar, and formatting, • Review to ensure accuracy of medical content Required • Pediatric Vitals Experience is a MUST, • Knowledge and experience in functional integrative medical, • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within an integrative medical practice., • Comfortable with electronic medical records, email, scanning, and other standard applications., • Computer proficiency, including learning new programs, • Attention to detail and good communication skills, • Outgoing/personable, • Proactive, • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work efficiently to increase patient flow and patient/provider satisfaction, • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals., • Flexibility, ability to adapt to a changing office environment, • Confidence to ask for help and clarification when needed, • Teamwork, • Understand the importance of HIPAA compliance Preferred • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in healthcare, • Medical office experience, • Holistic-oriented lifestyle, • Diversity a plus, • Bilingual a plus SALARY RANGE - $18 to $20/hour Practice offers benefits including sick/vacation time and paid holidays, and the perks of being part of an established, cutting edge functional medicine practice (access to integrative medical care, lab testing and supplements at cost). Health, dental and vision insurance are available. Position may become a hybrid remote utilizing regular communication through Google workspace; video meetings; and ChARM EHR.
