Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for an HVAC Service Technician at a full-service home services company located in Hurley, NY. The technician will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and boilers. The role also includes system installations — both replacements and new setups — across residential properties. In addition, the role will include plumbing services, especially in relation to water heating systems and boiler units. Key responsibilities include: • Perform routine and emergency maintenance on HVAC systems and water heaters, • Troubleshoot and repair heating, cooling, and ventilation systems to ensure optimal performance, • Conduct system inspections and preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life, • Install new HVAC systems, replacements, and components as needed, including furnaces, A/C units, heat pumps, and mini splits, • Install new plumbing for residential new construction projects, especially for water heating and HVAC-related piping, • Collaborate with the plumbing team for cross-functional repairs or system upgrades involving HVAC and water systems, • Clearly communicate findings, repairs, and system recommendations to customers in a professional, friendly manner, • Ensure all work complies with local codes, safety regulations, and company standards, • Maintain accurate records of service calls, diagnostics, repairs, and parts used, • HVAC experience preferred, but open to entry-level candidates with strong technical training or trade school education, • Familiarity with HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioning units, mini splits, heat pumps, and boilers, • Basic understanding of plumbing systems, especially as they relate to heating and water equipment, • EPA certification (Type II or Universal) preferred, or ability to obtain within 90 days, • Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills with a willingness to learn and grow on the job, • Comfortable working in crawlspaces, attics, and various weather conditions, • Excellent communication and customer service skills, • Dependable, organized, and able to manage time effectively during service calls, • Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus but not required, • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of HVAC or plumbing trade program preferred
