HonorVet Technologies is seeking a travel nurse RN NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in San Diego, California. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 09/15/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Description: Deliver expert nursing care to critically ill neonates and infants in a nationally ranked, Level 4 NICU. Care for medically complex, surgical, and cardiac newborns—including those born as early as 22 weeks gestation—requiring advanced interventions and constant monitoring. Support post-operative and ongoing management of trachs, G-tubes, and multiple drips. Utilize Epic for documentation and collaborate with a multidisciplinary, Magnet-recognized care team. Requirements: • Current CA RN license, • Minimum 2 years Level 4 NICU experience required (Level 3 with strong surgical/cardiac experience considered), • Certifications: BLS, Advanced NRP required; PALS preferred, • Proficient in IV therapy, central/implanted line care, PICCs, vasopressor drips, and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), • Experience with complex neonatal diagnoses: HIE/Cooling, CDH, NEC, respiratory failure, post abdominal and cardiac surgeries, • Must be flexible with 12-hour day/night variable shifts including weekends/holidays and rotation to sister facilities (PICU, CVICU, and satellite NICUs), • Comfortable floating to PICU, CVICU, Med Surg, and other satellite campuses within scope, • Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork skillsAdditional Details:, • Patient ratios: Typically 1:1–2, • 60-bed, regional Level 4 NICU; acute care, teaching hospital, Magnet & Beacon Award recognized, • Orientation: 36 hours, • No holiday RTO allowed; must work Thanksgiving, rotate holidays, • Scrub color: Any except black, • Must have transportation for required floating, • Flu vaccine required; COVID-19 vaccine not required, • Charting: Epic Founded in 2015, HonorVet Technologies stands as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), proudly certified by NaVOBA and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
