Job DescriptionJob Title: Construction Manager 3 Job Description This role serves as the on-site owner’s representative for a large data center development project in Childress, TX. The Construction Manager 3 oversees construction execution, monitors progress against forecasts, identifies risks, and ensures the project team delivers in alignment with the owner’s expectations. The position requires strong construction management expertise, especially in data center projects, along with proven skills in planning, scheduling, progress tracking, and reporting. Responsibilities • Act as the on-site owner’s representative for a lease-type data center development project in Childress, TX., • Integrate with the service provider’s project team and participate as a core team member., • Attend regular construction meetings with the service provider’s team and represent the owner’s interests., • Track construction progress and compare actual performance against the service provider’s forecasts and schedules., • Identify gaps between planned and actual progress and escalate issues as needed., • Identify risks related to construction and overall project execution and propose mitigation strategies., • Provide support to the service provider’s project team by coordinating and leveraging the owner’s resources., • Prepare simple, clear, and effective status reports and progress updates., • Report project status, risks, and other notable topics to the owner’s team on a periodic basis., • Contribute to planning, scheduling, and progress tracking activities to help maintain project timelines., • Maintain accurate documentation of meetings, decisions, and action items related to construction activities., • Ensure that site activities align with agreed project plans, safety requirements, and quality expectations.Essential Skills, • Strong verbal and written communication skills., • Effective problem-solving skills with a focus on practical solutions., • High attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills., • Ability to work independently and manage one’s time effectively., • Knowledge of construction execution methods, including planning, scheduling, progress tracking, and reporting., • Ability to identify risks related to construction and project execution and to support mitigation efforts., • Ability to prepare simple, clear, and effective reports for stakeholders., • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field., • 5–7 years of experience in construction management, including data center construction on large development projects., • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction management., • Minimum 5 years of experience in project planning and progress tracking., • Minimum 5 years of experience in risk identification and mitigation for construction projects.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • PMI or PMP certification preferred., • Experience as an owner’s representative on lease-build or lease-type construction projects., • Prior experience working closely with service providers or external project teams., • Familiarity with Bluebeam and P6 (Primavera) is beneficial, especially if prior P6 experience exists., • Comfort working on large, complex data center construction projects.Work Environment This position is stationed full-time on the construction site in Childress, TX. The typical schedule is approximately 40 hours per week, with 10-hour workdays, including three days on site and two days dedicated to travel, with travel expenses supported. The role requires regular participation in on-site construction meetings and close coordination with the service provider’s team in a dynamic, fast-paced project environment. The work involves active presence in a data center construction setting, including exposure to outdoor conditions, varying weather, and typical construction-site activities. The role uses tools such as Bluebeam and P6 (when applicable) along with standard office equipment such as a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and headset. The position requires adherence to a safety-focused dress code, including a Class 2 safety helmet, Class 2 or higher safety vest, cut and impact resistant gloves, ANSI Z87.1 or higher safety glasses or visor, composite toe work boots made of leather or leather alternative extending at least 4 inches above the ankle, and a Class 2 or higher reflective jacket suitable for cold and wet weather. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Houston, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $93.00/hr.
