To protect your workforce, we are at your fingertips: internationalsos.com Job Description A Diagnostic Radiologic Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging examinations, such as X-rays, to assist healthcare providers in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. This role requires the technician to operate imaging equipment, ensure patient safety, and maintain high standards of radiologic quality. Key Responsibilities: • Develops, recommends, and implements policies and procedure manuals related to delivery of safe, efficient, quality imaging services aligned with organizational philosophies, objectives, mission and accreditation and contract compliance., • Represents imaging department for long range planning; monitors, audits, and evaluates the quality of services provided. Ensures consistent applications of policies and standards., • Identifies staffing needs adjusting for clinical requirements and financial objectives; has authority to interview, recommend for hire, counsel, and evaluate personnel within assigned areas., • Defines position competencies for the imaging modalities; provide staff training. Ensures effective utilization of staff and departmental resources. Ensures staff participation in all fire safety, infection control and other mandatory training., • Ensures open lines of communication are maintained among employees, physicians, peers, and others., • Advises Sr. Hospital Administrator and physicians on problems related to collaborative service efforts and provide appropriate plan for resolution., • Actively attends and participates on essential committees of the medical department. Participates and promotes continuous quality improvement and management programs implementing and communicating corrective action plans and interventions., • Coordinates patient scheduling plans with front desk, physician/nursing staff; coordinate and schedule patients for treatment; assess patient, use proper patient positioning to obtain optimal images., • Evaluates previous studies for comparison., • Manages process and performs technical phases of radiographic procedures, including portable and operating room., • Oversees department sonographer ensuring the program is in compliance with ACR standards and ready for annual inspection., • Manages and performs abdomen, Ob/Gyn, small parts, and vascular ultrasound procedures; documents findings in a technologist report., • Performs procedures while taking precautions against unsafe exposure to patient, self or others; ensures all exposures are required. Identifies and promptly addresses unsafe practices and other safety issues in the department. Ensures all appropriate PPE is available., • Develops digital images, creates, updates and maintains patient data files; ensure transmission of images to consultant radiologists and manages diagnostic evaluation reports., • Provides written and verbal reports to physicians recognizing cases requiring immediate attention., • Interfaces with consultant radiologists and functions as a representative for managing the operational and fiduciary compliance to sub-contract., • Interfaces with clinic staff, technical support at Change Health Care and DI IT for regular software upgrades, maintenance and troubleshooting., • Responsible for imaging patient records; creates and maintains files, audits files for completion, legibility and appropriate charging., • Prepares and submits monthly and weekly reports in accordance with schedules and deadlines. Basic Requirements/Certifications: • Minimum 5 years recent imaging practical experience with at least 1 year in a supervisory position, preferably in a hospital setting., • Experience with digital acquisition and transmission of images desired., • Capable of functioning independently and proven ability in exercising independent judgment., • Requires administration/management experience including planning and development., • Other skills include consultation skills, excellent verbal and written communication abilities, public speaking skills, proficiency with computer system., • Must be familiar with all standard radiographic procedures including portable and operating room., • Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography., • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment., • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time., • Provide after-hours on-call response to emergency calls requiring imaging skills., • Must be able to read, write & speak English to effectively communicate, • This position is unaccompanied., • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required., • US DOD CNACI or the ability to obtain one is required., • A valid passport is required and must be in your possession prior to relocation. Additional Information Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
